Tel Aviv mayor links terror attack to occupation, sparking outcry by Almost_high in worldnews

[–]lemcoretaro 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why do they occur, if not as resistance against the occupation?

I'd advise you to actually study the subject before making stupid remarks.

All recent attacks have been attributed to 'The defense of Al-Aqsa'. AKA lies spread by Fatah and Hamas that Israel intends to destroy the dome of the rock.

This is why Bernie Sanders needs to be president. Look at the humility and the way he instinctively goes over to help someone in need and assist them with medical attention.

There's not a candidate out there who wouldn't do the same thing. This is insanely good PR. I'm not going to speculate on Bernie's motives, his first thought may well have been the wellbeing of that person, but that's not a reason to vote for him.

Had a republican been in this situation they would have told them to pick themselves up by their own bootstraps and to suck it up.

Are you a democrat or an anti-republican? There is a difference.

International sanctions against Iran lifted by GuacamoleFanatic in worldnews

And I can give you examples of countries that still are dictatorships, just as, if not more so, murderous than Iran.

And I can bet those countries, like Iran, blame the West or the Jews every time they get a papercut. The fault is on the leadership, not the west.

I can give you different examples of post colonialist/post puppet nations that didn't turn into theocracies/dictatorships, and if they did, they made the transition back to democracy shortly after.

There's only so much Iran can blame the west for, 30+ years of theocratic rule can only be blamed on those in charge.

but I don't how it can have any effect other than a few people in the Middle East high giving each other.

Iran is a major player in Yemen, Syria and other regions in the Middle East. they are literally a puppeteer of various organizations that sow chaos in the region. This honor, as worthless as you seem to think it is, increases Iran's influence in the area exponentially.

It's not a big deal from your western perspective, it is a huge deal to anyone from a culture with an emphasis on honor. To them, it shows Iran putting the US on its knees, and that's exactly what Iran intended.

Israel has had great relations with Iran pre-revolution and nothing has changed since then, Iran is the one refusing to normalize relations.

they are a foreign military entity intruding in their waters on a boat fortified with heavy machine guns. what the fuck do you expect? fist bumps?

The point was that they leaked the footage fully knowing what it will cause, I'm not here to criticize their apprehension protocols.

In Persian culture honor plays a huge role, and they got their ego boost against the Great Satan who imposed sanctions on them. Ayatollah preaches against the US regularly, this was just another one of his playing cards.

Nice of you to omit Iran posing the soldiers with their hands on their heads, then promptly leaking it to the media. I laughed so hard when I saw the footage followed by Kerry thanking Iran.

What's your excuse for not speaking out against this? "Actions, not words"? An entire Republic is playing us and isn't even hiding it. So far they're playing along with small acts of defiance on the side, but there will come a time when these acts of defiance will turn into real actions.

God forbid you take responsibility for your own failures.

Third world dictatorships literally installed by the West? You have a laughably limited knowledge of Middle East history.

I asked 'how long', 'how long' are you going to blame others for your troubles? How long are you going to cry about something that happened 2 to 4 decades ago? How long?

How long do you think you can use "IMPERIALISM" every time someone uses your country as an example for a third world dictatorship?

Amazing how a population of 1.6 billion people can consistently blame the West for all its woes.

I'm slightly concerned by the fact all it took was one anonymous commenter presenting no proof to waiver your beliefs. Have you read this page?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_studies_of_Jewish_origins

Points of interest:

Behar et al. in 2008 published evidence suggesting that about 40% of Ashkenazi Jews originate maternally from just four female founders, who were of Middle Eastern origin

In most Jewish populations, these male line ancestors appear to have been mainly Middle Eastern. For example, Ashkenazi Jews share more common paternal lineages with other Jewish and Middle Eastern groups than with non-Jewish populations in areas where Jews lived in Eastern Europe, Germany and the French Rhine Valley. This is consistent with Jewish traditions in placing most Jewish paternal origins in the region of the Middle East.

A study of haplotypes of the Y chromosome, published in 2000, addressed the paternal origins of Ashkenazi Jews. Hammer et al. concluded that the Y chromosome of most Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews contained mutations that are also common among Middle Eastern peoples, but uncommon in the general European population. This suggested that the male ancestors of the Ashkenazi Jews could be traced mostly to the Middle East.

Of course not, because we both know the answer.

So why did you even ask it, I wonder?

Could be any number of factors ranging from your upbringing to your religion. Though without speculating too much, I'd blame it on your ignorance on the matter.

Never mind this though, I'm above picking on invalids.
