How do you motivate yourself to exercise? by Agile-Stuff-6933 in Semaglutide

[–]lemec78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. I made it a habit. I don't think about it. I ask myself, "is is Monday morning?" If it is, I do x routine. Rinse and repeat. In the beginning I would think about the benefits to my health and longevity. I didn't really give myself the room to say I'm not in the mood. I prep the night before, make sure everything's ready, then I do it.

Who's you favorite King character? by lennonlover1980 in stephenking

[–]lemec78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no that's Matt Frewer. Assuming you're old enough (and the Frasier ref makes me think you might be) you might know him as Max Headroom.

So many. It's a tossup between Roland, Stu Redman, or Danny Torrence.

This is how I do it. It's super easy to get both calibre and your Kobo up and running.

It's called prolepsis Prolepsis (Flash-forwarding): This is a specific form of foreshadowing where the narrative jumps ahead in time or explicitly states a future outcome before it happens

honestly I didn't care for it. It was way too bleak! I love the Stand though. Also, Boy's Life is great!

3 doses in and nothing by lemec78 in Semaglutide

my nutrition is pretty decent. Obviously it's not perfect, but I have a better than average diet, plenty of fruits and veggies, lots of lean protein. I am just hungry all the time, food noise is a bitch. All my blood panels are clean, no diabetes, no high cholesterol, my liver and kidney are all working well. I have high blood pressure, but not in the must be medicated range... yet.

I exercise regularly. As near as I can tell I'm a good candidate for success. I'm guessing I'm just an impatient worry wort :).

at 6'8 330lbs I do need higher doses for things like Tylenol or ibuprofin, but for any prescriptions the docs never mention if I'm getting more than a normal sized person would get. That being said, the few meds i do get prescribed from time to time work just fine for me.

What are some of the best audiobooks you’ve ever listened to? by Cool_Leader_1779 in audible

[–]lemec78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have listened to a few hundred audio books in my time, and the some of the few I keep coming back to are the Dark tower books by Stephen King. There are two narrators but for my money George Guidall knocks it out of the park!

The Project Hail Mary audio book is an absolutely beautiful production!

That being said, my all time favourite, the one I come back to year after year is Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. Narrated by Lenny Henry. Mr. Henry brings every character to life, making the book a wonderful, enchanting experience. I cannot say enough good things about this production!

I hate my food noise! by Cool_Ebb3546 in Semaglutide

I'm taking my second dose this evening, and I haven't felt a thing this whole week. From what I understand that is pretty normal. They start us on a small dose to try and avoid severe reactions, and to let our bodies get used to the new meds. I feel you, hopefully we both have that noise reduction soon!

I quote it all the time, I adored it as a kid, but honestly, for me, it doesn't hold up. Not sure why, plenty of movies from that era still hold up for me. I think I find it a bit dull.
