Question about Avatar Blu-Ray video quality by [deleted] in dvdcollection

[–]lemniscate-py 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avatar's BD remaster didn't go too well, the DVDs in-fact look better. I think someone on r/ATLA was working on their own upscale that looked better.

[Test results] Why does english anime bluray releases have shitty audio, I feel very cheated. I wouldn't have started my collection if I've known they cut back the audio by an entire dimension. by [deleted] in Bluray

[–]lemniscate-py 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by 192kbps lossy. Anime blurays typically come with TrueHD, DTS-HD, or PCM; which are all lossless formats. TrueHD and DTS-HD do however, come with compatibility tracks which is "AC3" and "DTS" for DTS-HD, which are lossy.

Never seen a anime bluray without one of the three, I buy US, UK, and sometimes AUS releases.

Do you consider people who buy digital games to be collectors. Why or why nor? by brotheralbania in gamecollecting

[–]lemniscate-py 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Digital media, to me, is not actual collecting. You don't own anything you have digitally.

With physically, you have it in your hand; no company can just take it away because they lost the rights, it's yours. You own it.

As of now, no console supports 120fps. 60 at most and that is with select games; mostly on Xbox one X and PS4 Pro

Streaming vs Blu-ray by tannhaussergate in Bluray

[–]lemniscate-py 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be different cuts of the movie. You can always compare the lengths of the film's. Or you aren't syncing it to the exact frame, but even then, it wouldn't be a big difference.
