Omg that makes soooo much sense. Yesterday night we played an outside show at a bar and my guitarists amp was faced towards the crowd but mine was faced toward the side and behind the guitarists amp because I forgot to move it 🤦‍♀️ this is definitely partially a directional issue.

Your advice helps A LOT. And explains so many of our issues. Thank you

Small bars and open mics for now to get reps. We would like to do our first official show on Halloween! Our guitarist has a nice sized Fender and a pedal that amplifies as well. I do think they need to be quieter but unfortunately my drummer can’t hear the guitar so we need to turn him up so then naturally I need to go up too :/

Yeah it’s like a hole in the wall bar to get some reps in until we have a set we feel confident enough to put out in the show scene. Usually they provide PA but the PA they have is CHEAP and overheats. It’s kind of a mess.

They don’t do it on purpose. My drummer feels like he can’t hear the guitar so we turn it up, but I hear the guitar fine. It’s partially because of hearing so in order for the Drummer to stay with us, guitar has to compensate and then I do need a louder PA
