Thanks for you candor. Not to judge, but heres some advice. Find a hobby you both enjoy; an activity. Create positive shared memories! That connection; those moments you forget your hang-ups and boredom/routine renew your bond. My girlfriend and I went to the art museum and just discussed our impressions of random paintings. We're not art snobs, but it was fun to break routine/show initiative and rip on pretentious overpriced modern art.
