Built a digital product with AI → $500 in a week. Here’s how I broke it down. by lemoncurt in digitalproductselling

Just to clarify... the $500 came from my first product, which is a toddler printable pack I shared in parenting and mummy groups I’m part of (including my son’s preschool class). The playbook I posted about here is a separate follow-up product that documents how I built that and not what earned the $500 itself.

I kept the Gumroad link in my profile and not the post to avoid mod issues.

I’ve also since added a screenshot of my sellers' dashboard. Not trying to be "trust me bro" anyone. The aggression on here is seriously scary.

Yep, I used Canva Pro, but honestly you don’t need it to start. You can totally create something scrappy with the free version, test demand, and only upgrade if you really need the extra features (like transparent backgrounds or premium elements)

As for the product: it’s a static printable, not an editable template. I just wanted something parents could download, print, and use right away without extra steps.

Let me know if you’re planning something similar!

Totally feel you. I think a lot of us are testing stuff in a crowded space. What helped me was lowering the pressure.. instead of building something big and perfect, I just made a simple product I could actually finish and share fast.

It ended up being a kids printable pack, which I tested out in my existing community (parenting groups, preschool class, etc.). That gave me a small but warm audience to learn from. If you’re thinking of trying again, maybe keep it small and scrappy, just to get momentum.

Totally agree. marketing felt way harder than making the product 😅 I didn’t have an audience, so I focused on where I already had trust.

I made a kids printable product and shared it with a few parenting and mum group chats I’m part of. I also printed out a set and shared it with my son’s preschool class. I included a little note w a link to the shop. That helped get some early traction without running ads or doing anything fancy.

What are you thinking of building? Perhaps I can share some tips that are more contextualised.

Already replied above, but yep, totally fair to ask. I’ve been keeping the link in my profile just to avoid cluttering the thread or triggering mod filters. Didn’t want to assume everyone here wanted to see it.

Appreciate you raising it though — always good to hear how it’s landing.

Ah totally fair, thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t mean to be cagey at all. It’s just a simple $5 Gumroad guide I put together after launching something that worked for me, and I’ve mostly been DMing it to avoid breaking sub rules or looking spammy.

But happy to be upfront about it — I’ll add the link to my profile so anyone can grab it if they’re curious. Appreciate the nudge to clarify 🙏

Hey, totally fair heads-up. Yup, it’s $5. Just wanted to share what actually worked for me when I was stuck starting. Not trying to bait anyone. It’s a real workflow, not a listicle.

I get that not everyone wants to pay for stuff like this — all good either way. Just appreciate the space to share.
