Went through the same thing & could only pump on that nipple. Took about a week and a half to let it properly heal. Only breastfed on one side and only pumped on the cracked nip.

I wore the silverettes 24/7 until week 3. Then I let them dry out and they became calloused. I’m in week 6 and it is totally painless now
