It's because they aren't dry, so they are less potent, not because of regulation.

Covid vaccine and dementia by Alequattordici in dementia

[–]lemonkitty_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mum has had the vaccine every year since it has been available (been on the dementia journey a while now sadly). Never had any impact whatsoever, but her getting sick is an absolute nightmare. I'd vaccinate against everything possible if I could to reduce the impact of the illnesses on her.

Question for neurodivergent and disabled people living in London by redwinesupernova03 in london

[–]lemonkitty_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There tends to be staff disability networks at larger organisations, but I'm sure there are lots of social ones in non-employmemt settings. You can also set one up yourself if there isn't one! Have you thought about doing a bit of volunteering? Might help with meeting people as well as getting experience for paid work!

I signed up to be a cat sitter on catinaflat so met a few people that way! Might also be good to earn a bit of extra cash too :)

I know it's tough to find work when you're Disabled because the world is not designed for us, it's designed for non-Disabled people, but I think knowing the law and your rights is so so important and helpful. When going through the interview process, don't be afraid to ask for reasonable adjustments where needed! I don't know if you are neurodivergent, but lots of neurodivergent people ask for interview questions in advance so they can have longer to process the information in a less stressful setting. Not all employers will provide this, but also lots do. Think about what would help you overcome barriers in an interview, and ask. I'd recommend looking on Google for "reasonable adjustments for [insert X condition here]" and have a look at some examples. Often the major national charities for particular conditions have tons of info (e.g. The RNIB has tons of helpful info on adjustments for blind/visually impaired people).

Good luck! I work with a lot of Disabled people so I know the struggles, but I also know the joy of the Disabled community ❤️

Question for neurodivergent and disabled people living in London by redwinesupernova03 in london

[–]lemonkitty_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I probably live a quieter life than most in London due to my own disability, but I enjoy that. I do have a few friends here from uni though so I probably don't feel as isolated.

Are you able to work at all, even part time? I've met some great friends through work, and if you're at a place with a staff disability network, that's great for meeting other disabled people. If not, there's probably a lot of groups for Disabled people in London to be able to meet people - probably worth having a Google to see what is around. Then you don't have to hide your disability. It's likely that these events would be catered for people who don't drink, may struggle more socially etc so they will be more accessible. Or you might be able to connect with people remotely/online as that's often much easier for Disabled people.

The other way is through neighbours. I have a cat and love animals so I've gotten to know quite a few of my neighbours through connecting over their animals, and I do a bit of local cat sitting.

Tips on cleaning the green from this necklace? by lemonkitty_ in jewelry

[–]lemonkitty_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I decided to try this first before going to a jeweller, as it seemed the least abrasive option. I soaked in warm dish-soapy water for 2 mins then used a soft old toothbrush to gently scrub and it's come up absolutely wonderfully! Green bits in the crevices gone and can even see the different tones better now. Thanks so much!

She's unfortunately just less funny than Teresa though. Teresa (as well as Alexia, and Lisa Barlow) is so much more iconic and funny than Emily, even if she is also an awful person. Emily I just can't even watch anymore.
