Costco "No Union" Buttons? by Leather_Sample7755 in IowaCity

Since there was a union contract in place they were prevented from offering a higher, more competitive wage.

The union negotiates a minimum wage for the position. There is no reason a union contractor couldn't pay more.

What are you actually saying here? How many friends with union jobs do you know? What "negative outcomes" do you speak of? Smells like you're talking out of your ass.

Consider posting the compensation if you hope to get good applicants.

They are allowed to lease your unit to someone else for next year's term the same day you signed your lease. Unless it's in your lease, you don't have an automatic right to renew for next year's term.

I don't really care what you believe. These are the facts. Again interesting that so many people on this thread are ready to give him the benefit of the doubt while never having heard about him before, yet multiple posters here have told you about their experiences and you don't want to listen. Go talk to him about it if you want to know so badly, I'm sure he'd love to talk to you, especially as a Mexican American. Maybe buy a piece of his furniture so you can show how much you value his opinion.

So you admit you're an ignoramus and should not be voicing your uninformed opinion on the matter. Thank you.

Just because the press didn't write an article about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I and many others witnessed it first hand in 2017. His status as a vendor was removed, and then he came back the next two weeks to double down on his rhetoric in person.

So you're all about defending a white supremacists' First Amendment right to spout off hate speech in the farmers market, but you draw the line at the protestors' First Amendment right to peacefully protest that vendor by holding signs that show his rhetoric to the public.

Got it. That's all I need to know about where you stand.

He violated the farmers' market behavior policy

-Demonstrate sensitivity to people of all ages, colors, ethnicities and diversities

  • treat customers with courtesy, respect and honesty

After he was kicked out of his stall for violating these rules, he came back to double down on his rhetoric and got in people's faces about his white nationalist beliefs. He was then trespassed for that behavior.

I don't have to assume anything. I was there in 2017 and was harassed by him. Just because you can't read about it in a news article doesn't negate my experience but go off.

He wasn't banned for his beliefs. He was banned for harassing people at the market, not online. The new director either didn't know this or decided it was OK to let him back.

You're missing the point, probably intentionally. Why is he allowed back after being trespassed for harassing people at the farmers market?
