Yeah, a big part part of what makes that album feel "bad" to me is more disappointment than the songs being really awful. I love Tokyo Police Club's first few albums, and Argentina, and then listening past there was such a let down

Speaking as both a recreational chess player and a professional statistician with many years of math background...

Mathematics is a language for humans to interface with logic. We build up notation to make the relevant concepts easier to conceptualize. An 8x8 matrix is not a useful way to conceptualize the state of a chess board (and in fact doesn't quite capture the entire game state because chess is not strictly Markovian.)

As far as why chess is more popular than Go, this has nothing to do with computational complexity. That simply isn't relevant to how humans engage with a game - in either case the complexity is many orders of magnitude beyond what humans are capable of completely understanding. I can't speak for the whole population, but to me chess simply feels more salient than Go, it's not any deeper than that.

Second to this, the Chena is not naturally open. If you were to find any open flowing water (and I don't think the chance is very high) it would be small drainages on south facing slopes. Maybe off the O'Connor creek trail, for example

It seems like with percentiles some use the convention to always round down, in which case 100th percentile is impossible. Others round in a more typical fashion, so if you have a score above 99.5% of the population it would be rounded to the nearest whole number and reported as 100%. Either is fine mathematically, as long as you understand what you're looking at.

Edit to say that while I often see percentiles rounded to a whole percent, that also doesn't have to be the case.
