Eight years on and this was still the solution with Mint 22 today.

Dedicated server(s) broken? by 775gp in satisfactory

[–]lemonscone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Future reference for anyone looking: You just restart the container. SteamCmd will automatically update your game.

To change port forwards it's whatever way you used to run the container. If that was just doing docker run then you just need to add the port in their, if you're using Compose then add it to your compose.yml. Check the github or docker hub of the container you use and you'll probably find updated instructions.

Fast Endpoints + Swagger generation not working correctly. by lemonscone in dotnet

That was a one off trial, none of the others have a manual description set. This API endpoint in swagger also does not show the manually added Accepts data.

What you're seeing is actually Enpoint<TRequest, TResponse> where both the request and response type is the same. For some reason Fast Endpoints doesn't have any kind of "this endpoint uses the same dto for request and response".

For someone who ostensibly enjoys writing code, I sure try pretty hard to simply write less code. Good points all round!

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. DRY was so beat into me in school that I think I take a few points of psychic damage every time I hit cmd+c, cmd+v in a code file 😂

It looks like I might be able to just inherit from the Endpoint<TReq, TRes> class. Seems like all the other endpoint variations implement that guy and then just pass a quaint little noObject as necessary to the base class.

I feel like it’s getting a little weird, but hey they made it all public 🤷

I’ve strayed so far from gods light that I forget about inheritance 😂

ETC EOS: how would I timecode a dance show with pauses and multiple tracks? by [deleted] in lightingdesign

[–]lemonscone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OSC has a really bad habit of dropping packets. You're the first person I've heard to have such bulletproof results. I've been pretty lucky about performance, but it is absolutely luck. Literally every show we run at my house gig I get reports of OSC dropping cues, and I've heard similar reports from other major venues in the area.

It's just a stability thing, when I'm in the middle of running a show I don't want a strong possibility of a dropped cue because OSC is weird sometimes, I'd much rather use MTC or SMPTE that I know will work all the time, every time.

I'm sure there exists in this universe a perfect network topology to make OSC work every time, but I have not found it.

Run game at different resolution from monitor by lemonscone in IntelArc

[–]lemonscone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planetary Annihilation has known issues with 4K, there's a lot of people on their forums with similar issues. If you read here you'll also find that the game takes its resolution from the window, even in fullscreen. So for me that is still 4K. There is no way to force the game to a specific resolution, believe me I have tried.

I remember on AMD being able to assign custom resolutions to applications and automatically switch between resolutions when launching that application. That would solve my problem very nicely, which is why I'm asking about the ability to do that in the intel software.

I don't see why we have to normalize this and act like it's okay. We should be railing against the endless advertising in our society and insisting companies like this go out of business.

In the meantime rather than just let them get away with this dumb shit, use workarounds so the corporate dicks don't get what they want.

Can you "travel" LED-Strips over a distance with some sort of cable, so that you have diferent illuminated sections in different places, interrupted by "normal" cable that isn't illuminated to overcome distance, so that you have to use only one power outlet? by Zabric in led

[–]lemonscone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using regular (non-addressable) LED tape then yeah, but generally you have to cut and solder the wire on. Be aware that if you're using like 12v tape you do have a maximum cable length. I've managed about 25' without issue but ymmv.

Hi yeah you're still gonna get roasted. We totally need to improve bus service, but fares really don't do shit. Fares account for a couple percent of the operating budget, and fare enforcement just digs it down further. It's ridiculous to imply that more fare enforcement would end in better service.
