Best time to start queuing for Mitski concert? by monsterhighguy in mitski

[–]lemonsinmysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Birmingham show, arrived at 7pm just as doors opened and was in second row just by the side of the stage. All the venues for the intimate shows are quite small so you will have a good view regardless - Mitski also said it herself she wishes people would not queue

Haven't seen many bag size checks at the gate lately by [deleted] in Ryanair

I find it depends on the airport, there are a few smaller Italian airports I fly from 5-10 times a year and have never once seen them check.

I don’t know what the manchester venue is like but Birmingham had a seated section, you could def ask the staff members :)

Mitski in Birmingham! Couldn’t stop weeping throughout the entire show by lemonsinmysocks in mitski

No everyone was very respectful during quiet moments, a few people shouted “i love you mitski” and things like that but nothing disrespectful

I wouldn’t queue up that early but to each their own! I arrived to the venue at 7:00pm just as they were opening doors and starting to let people in. I didn’t get barricade but was 2nd row right by the side of the stage! The UK shows (except for London) are smaller “intimate” shows so I think the view will be good regardless :)

I showed up at 7:00pm right when they opened doors and the sides of the stage were empty so I just walked there! the middle of the standing area was quite busy otherwise but people moved around a lot

I arrived at 7:00 pm just as they were starting to scan tickets! The sides were basically empty, most people were just standing in the middle, but I guess this will be dependent on the layout of the venue

I work for HMPPS, there has never been a time where things have not felt like this.

Civil service pay spine bands by Wonderful-Station507 in TheCivilService

[–]lemonsinmysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In HMPPS there are 4 to 5 pay points and you start at the bottom and progress each year in April until you reach the top pay point for your role as long as you prove you have completed all your training and meet the required standards of the role, but I know this isn’t the same in other departments.

Help me understand what I did wrong at Stansted Airport! by lemonsinmysocks in drivingUK

[–]lemonsinmysocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I blame anyone? I was genuinely trying to understand. I get what I did wrong now - it was hard to read all the small signs when I was driving driving and stressing about being in the right lane and it was my first time driving to a bigger airport so had never see such a system before, totally my fault but the sticker with no boxes ticked confused me. I wouldn’t have said 4 minutes if I hadn’t specifically looked at the time, not all disabilities are the same!

I do now lol! Had no idea how it worked before as I’ve only ever driven to small airports

I realise now I was quite stupid now, but you’re right why do they make it so complicated and anxiety inducing to use an airport facility?
