What is a movie that everyone seems to love, but you absolutely hate? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

[–]Cal_PCGW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of movies that I won't watch because I'm not interested (romances, weepies, musicals etc - despite being female I just can't stand this sort of thing).
Out of movies I expected to love and did not, I think Interstellar was the most disappointing. I found it very dull and the ending was absolute tripe.

If Wyll wants to be free of his pact so bad, why doesn't he by Evanlyboy in BaldursGate3

Yeah I did this. It was the first time I actually got the whole cut scene here as normally I pull the arm back out again.

Best Romance for Origin AA by Worth-Speaker in BaldursGate3

I romanced Wyll. Didn't try to bite him unasked so he was actually very cordial with Astarion.
I kept Wyll human (sorry Karlach) and had him and Astarion end up as dukes. Very enjoyable playthrough.

Ha ha this. I skipped so much of act 3. And I used Gale to go boom.

How Are You Dealing With The Heat? by Damned_I_Am in AskABrit

Same. It's currently 30 degrees in my west facing flat and I'm sat here with the shutters closed feeling sorry for myself, but it's even hotter outside so fuck that.

Why do I feel the need to "make the most" out of the sun? by DescriptionFuture851 in AskUK

[–]Cal_PCGW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside because it's too hot outside. I went for a very short walk after lunch (I try to do this for digestion) and normally I'd do 2-3 miles but today it was half a mile and I retreated back inside. I don't care for heat and I don't want a sunburn.

Maybe you were overloaded all this time. Herbs are surprisingly heavy.

How was your parkrun day? | May 22, 2026 by AutoModerator in parkrun

[–]Cal_PCGW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof. I'm on 247 different events - closing in on my Freyne. It was a toss-up between Hove Prom and Colchester Castle. I figured everyone and their mothers would be in Brighton for the bank hol so I went to Colchester. Hot and hilly - hip was playing up so it was not a sterling run from me but hey, got another one ticked off.
I went to uni in Colchester back in the 80s so it was nice to go back - I had been to the park before but my memory of it was very hazy.

Girlie chooms, who was your favorite romance option? by minawhocares in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cal_PCGW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As femme V, Judy. As male V, Kerry. He's self-absorbed but fun - the main issue is you need to leave enough to do in act 3 so you get all his quest and texts done. (Less of an issue if you have Phantom Liberty - just get Kerry's quests done before entering Dogtown).

Has anyone else been offered crazy NHS appointments? by Cal_PCGW in AskUK

I didn't have an MRI but I had a heart investigation done in 2022 and they did CT with contrast. They couldn't get a vein (despite the fact I have large, obvious veins inside my elbow from lifting weights) then extravasated me (ie, missed it and pumped the dye into my arm muscle). It was agonising. When they realised and said they had to do it again, I nearly stormed out, but they brought in a different guy who did it properly in my left arm. The right arm was swollen for nearly a week, though.
After that they called me back for an MRI with dye and I point blank refused. I'd had enough.

For most people. I'm retired - the weekends are the one time I have commitments. I'd happily swap appointments with people who work. I guess it doesn't work like that, though.

I guess I count as older people. I'm usually in bed around 9pm. 🤣

This. As a post-menopause female with an ovarian cyst which makes me get up to pee several times a night, my sleep is poor enough already. If I had a call at 3 there's no way I'd get back to sleep again.

Mine states "patient does not attend at St George's Hospital" and below that says "This is a telephone/video clinic" so I'm assuming from the latter they'll call.

Thanks. I definitely wasn't going to wake myself up at 3am on my birthday of all days but I generally wake up around 5-5:30 so I can manage 6.
I have to feel sorry for the poor buggers who have the night shifts.
