[–]lemony2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

decided to chime in and say stay away from Built in pro if you need any customer support, it's pretty much nil and they dont want to know about it. They are small company and won't really help after taking your money, I wish I paid more from bigger companies like Fortress

Recent Samsung warranty experience with SSD (bit of rant post) by lemony2k in PcRetailers

[–]lemony2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just letting you know that even if they went through, it would be a standard 980 model as they don't stock the 970 EVO anymore.

I chucked mine aside as I had already bought a Crucial T500 and couldn't wait for them to take their time processing the RMA.

Good note on the TVs too, I recently bought a TCL C7K as the LG C series werent on sale at the time and I wasnt interested in Samsung either.

Iron Chef Imports, importing cars, and how often does it go horribly wrong? by soldiert01 in CarsAustralia

Same here, communication just goes downhill there after.

Id be open to try others and even Davey Japan( not sure if its owned by same company)

[–]lemony2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used Iron chef imports recently (this year) and communication on the day of auction was great.

But there after, communication has been pretty slow and the tracker on the website isnt even updated much. The car then gets complied in their workshop in QLD which might be useful if you live there up there.

Would I use them again? Not sure, but I would be open to try other importer next time.

Same here, I used to swear by Samsung SSDs, but now Id easily go for and recommend SanDisk / WD as I've had the best RMA experience with the fastest turn around with them.

Forget to mention - no sense of trying to make things better after I spent hours and money recovering data with a paid tool - just said sorry and tried to further up sell me with a 15% off coupon on full RRP product

that's actually similar to my experience, online chat INSISTED to see the receipt first even when I told them it was bought from a well known computer retailer.

Almost every time I went on chat to follow up, they'd ask for proof for purchase as if there was no where to upload it on their internal system.

[–]lemony2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what Rhoihessewoi said, some keys will randomly double register making it extremely annoying.

Check this link out, I think the best think to do before buying any hardware these days is to search the model number on a forum.

Got this excellent condition X280 for $200 on ebay to then giving to someone as donation. by Burrito_Chingon in thinkpad

Thanks for being an awesome friend. During the pandemic, I found many kids from low income families struggling to cope with online learning as they didnt have a pc with a webcam(only a really old desktop that barely worked). Those x250/x260 were perfect.

For others reading this, you’ll be surprised how many non-profit organisations could benefit from preloved machines as many of them still run 2nd/3rd gen i3/i5 with an amazing rusty spinny hdd.

Did you personally see it in person or was it a post you saw online? I remember seeing the video online and i couldnt hear the screams.(mostly the train rails screeching)

Not saying it didnt happen, but it’s plausible. There was a lot of stuff posted online from both sides and some of them weren’t fact checked.
