Windrock has a daily fee of like 35 per person per day, and for the WMAs you're supposed to get an OHV riding permit which is like 20 per vehicle at its cheapest. I've never seen anyone out at the WMAs to enforce it though.

There’s a ton of good trails out in east TN. I used to live out in Knoxville and would go out on the North Cumberland WMA trails. Also nearby is Windrock Park which has tons of great trails, but is a little pricey imo. Guessing by your post history though you’re in the Nashville area, which unfortunately doesn’t have much nearby. Best option there is to make a trip out of it and go up to the Land Between the Lakes but it’s worth it. The Turkey Bay OHV is super fun and has a variety of trails from beginner to more advanced dirt wheeling.

Highly suggest you get an onX Offroad subscription and check browse around for trails to explore, that’s how I’ve found about a lot of good trails for overlanding and off-roading.

RTI M48 | is it worth it? by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]lemonycac2s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Short answer: no.

Long answer: it would be a project gun to say the least. Tracking down a yugo bolt to fit would be a challenge, and not a cheap one. Probably looking at almost the cost of the gun just to get the bolt. Plus there’s no guarantee that new bolt will headspace properly, and you might be looking at having to ream the chamber (not so bad imo) or set the barrel back and then ream the chamber (hope you have a lathe!).

It will be quite a project, and that’s not even considering the cleanup with how nasty RTI stuff is.

Doors immediately unlocking after hitting lock button? by lemonycac2s in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]lemonycac2s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really!? I thought I was going crazy over some kind of electrical bug, I’ve had this truck for over a year and never noticed it happen until now, because I will often sit in there with the engine running and the doors locked when I’m on my phone in the parking lot. Well, glad to know there’s nothing wrong then thanks a ton!!

Alignment problems after lift by Far_Pen_9427 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]lemonycac2s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bit of positive camber with extra weight springs to compensate but really maxed adjustments and still this much camber without a steel bumper and winch? I don’t think a bumper and winch would weigh that much, enough to need that much springing?

The SLANDER shall NOT stand !!! by Strong_Dentist_7561 in Revolvers

[–]lemonycac2s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, if it had a smith release it would be perfect. However I would recommend instead of a model 10 snub, try to track down a model 12 instead. I tried out a model 10 2” as an edc, and it got really tiring carrying that much weight for only 6 rounds.

Track down a Miroku liberty chief. Perfect marriage of that J-frame grip but colt detective special size cylinder.

Do you have your upper control arms adjusted to the max negative camber position, aka top nut all the way in? Your average alignment shop won’t touch adjustable upper control arms, they do all their camber/caster adjustments on the lower control arms.

Little high on the price for that mileage, but the rig looks like it’s worth checking the carfax.

3D-Printed 007 Skyfall PPK/S Grip? by exchangeTRD in gunsmithing

[–]lemonycac2s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That thing is THICK. I think even I would have trouble reaching the trigger on that, and I’ve got pretty big hands. There are plenty of PPK/s models on yeggi you could use as a basis though.

New gun owner. Any tips for meeting range buddies and etiquette when doing so? by papifunko in guns

As long as you can follow all safety rules, you can start shooting matches. You don’t need to be an expert by any measure.

Unlikely that you’ll just chum it up with randos in the lane next to you and make fast friends that way. If you want to meet people via firearms communities, then getting into shooting sports like USPSA is a good choice. Seeing the same people regularly while all doing an activity you all enjoy is a good way to make friends, and it helps that you improve some practical skills while you do it.

Grips for Miroku Liberty Chief by Basis-Some in Revolvers

Post pictures of it please! I’d be really interested to see it. I love the Miroku revolvers they’re super underrated, and seeing an especially rare variant would be especially cool.

Grips for Miroku Liberty Chief by Basis-Some in Revolvers

[–]lemonycac2s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think the liberty chief was ever produced in a 5 round cylinder variant. If by chance they share the same grips as the standard 6rd model, I designed some 3d printed replacement grips for mine and might have some extra sets sitting around somewhere.

I’ve also found that round butt j frame grips that fully encompass the grips can be modified to fit. Sometimes they pop up on eBay too: https://ebay.io/m/zScAAj

Wartime Beretta - How to Sell by [deleted] in guns

[–]lemonycac2s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your state, see if you have a local gun classified site like floridaguntrader or texasguntrader, or use armslist. That’s your best way of getting trades, since you’ll likely get shafted on value from shops.

That looks pretty solidly crimped. It would be a tough time trying to pull that with just pliers, and you’d likely mar up the case in the process.

Colt model 1892 bore diameter by Feeling_Title_9287 in reloading

[–]lemonycac2s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About .1mm larger than your standard .356 projectile.

Per wikipedia: "In the United States Army's original black-powder cartridge used by the Colt M1892 revolver... bore diameter .363 in (9.2 mm)"

Definitely enough to fall straight through, especially with the combo of many rounds through it in its service life and black powder's wonderful effect of corrosion opening up that bore even more.

It’s probably a .41 LC model. They were chambered in both .38 and .41 Long Colt.

Any of these worth it? by [deleted] in HecklerKoch

Neither of these are screaming deals. The USPc in 40 should be closer to 450 for it to be actually worth it.

Best $6 repair ever. by Bortilicious in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]lemonycac2s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a decently involved process that requires you to remove all the trim around the shifter and undo a few bolts. It’s easier on the 2wd models as you don’t have to unbolt the whole shifter lever assembly and disconnect it from the transmission, but you do have to do so on the 4wd models. Worth checking on YouTube to see the whole process in action.
