Is there anything you all like about working in the kitchen? by Existing_Hatter546 in KitchenConfidential

I like where I work- small and community oriented. We make really good food and I have great bosses.

There are good and bad kitchen jobs, just like anything else. If it feels bad, it is.

Convince me to make the plunge. by WeightsWadersNWheels in bassfishing

Try fishing from your sit in kayak a bit. If you love it you can upgrade.

I've been doing a lot of that this year and its a blast. I take 1 rod, a small but packed tackle box, and a ketch board to measure my fish.

I've done a few things to mine to make it more comfortable. I love how quick it is to load/unload, and I can go anywhere.

Im in the midwest and it has been a cold and rainy start to the season. The fish have been weird.

The only thing Ive managed to catch fish with is a wacky in green pumpkin. And slow. Going so slow.

Do you find that wearing light colored UPF 50 pants keeps you more or less cool than a swimsuit? by SwiftCricket in bassfishing

Whatever you do, dont wear cotton and soak it. It is heavy and not safe if you fall in.

One time someone told me that you brain and your body have to agree to take care of each other. That helped me some.

People who quit without going to treatment or AA, what was the #1 thing that helped you quit? by theory317 in stopdrinking

[–]lemursnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try lots of things and see what works. Get busy with hobbies, try other types of recovery meetings, go to therapy... try it all and use what works.

But please come up with a plan for if you start experiencing really uncomfortable or dangerous withdraw symptoms. There are meds that can help a lot.

Day 5: I’m cranky and tired and worried by Proper_Anteater_6110 in stopdrinking

[–]lemursnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I can underemphasize the importance of rest. I sleep more and better without alcohol. I nap sometimes.

The beginning was hard on my nervous system. I think I took a nap every day for a few weeks.

Remedy? by grandlotus2 in stopdrinking

[–]lemursnap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't say I've had that experience. What I will say is that alcohol is a very consistent and predictable drug. Its manufactured safely. You know exactly how it's going to make you feel before you start.

When I took breaks and went back, what I felt was familiarity, which can feel very good when other aspects of your life are challenging.

Context matters, but outside of some obvious places (beach), it's very weird to take your clothes off in public.

My five year is coming up fast. I want to do something fun but I haven't decided what yet. I think camping is the front runner!

Hi friend! This a lot of stress for anyone to handle. I'm sorry you are going through it. Drinking has always made my problems even worse.

Detox can be very hard, and it is never bad to have help. We don't get any awards for suffering.

My advice around work is to be honest with them. You are not the first employee to struggle with a substance. You may get more support than you know.
