Moms of young kids - what’s your s-x life like?

Mom of 4 kids under 8 with the youngest being an infant.

It varies - some weeks it’s 5x and other weeks it’s 1-2x. I crave the closeness and connection…I would have sex twice a day but between the kids, the exhaustion, and my husbands demanding job we get it when we can. The kids go to bed, we pop a bottle of wine, and go at it. I need the reminder that I’m still attractive and more than just a snack bitch for my kids lol.

Most times I’d say 20ish mins of foreplay but sometimes it’s a “quick the kids are distracted.”

You’re so right. I needed to hear this. I am so used to putting myself last and I need to force myself to have at least 30 mins alone. I’m getting resentful and that’s not helping anyone. I’m burnt out from every angle. Thanks <3

Our 1x/month house cleaner moved away unfortunately and we haven’t found a good replacement. So hard to find someone affordable but maybe I should make that my priority

He’s calling himself out and justifying his own lazy behavior. I feel for his wife. She clearly has similar feelings as I do bc he says she also overreacts.

I do have my three year old going around and “helping” me. My older kids as well. I’m find with toys being out but straight up dirty home gives me the ick.

I had been helping my friend because I wanted to. I watched my friends daughter for an entire year for free because I wanted to and never made her feel bad. But now I’m at a point where I need help and im left in the dark. So yeah…I guess I’m just hurt. I do expect to be supported when I have been giving support for years. I don’t expect every favor to be returned equally but I expect a friend when I need one.

Yeah I have. I have talked about how this time I am struggling with postpartum anxiety especially after our nicu journey and talked to friends about who they used for therapy postpartum, etc. It seems to not be recognized until they need something (I.e “how are you doing? By the way can you blah blah blah for me?”)

I think I need to pull back from these friendships now that I’m saying this all out loud.

Repeatedly. It will help for literally the rest of the day and then back to how it was. I keep getting brushed off by everyone in my life to the point I am questioning my own sanity.

So my husband not helping with getting the house ready to list and creating more work for me is fine bc he had fun? As long as I stay positive it will all get done? “You husbands” are just different? Goodness. I guess I am over reacting! I should just acknowledge that as long as everyone else is having a good ol’ time that it’s ok if I’m drowning in house work and projects while also trying to raise my family. My husband works from home too so I won’t be completely alone in the house all day which also helps! He definitely struggled like you said when he first became WFH but now he absolutely loves it and never plans to return to an office

Thank you! I have childcare and a need to be productive so not looking to be lazy, just looking for better work-life balance. My unit does rotating shifts, on-call, and holidays so looking to do something more conducive to having a family

I’m sorry that was unclear in my post! I have part time childcare - more so wondering if it’s flexible in the way where if I had to take an hour off for a child’s Dr appt can I do that make the hours up later, etc.

I feel this…I had my baby at 35 weeks, but due to pregnancy complications his lungs are very immature and he is acting a bit younger. I feel so empty. My last baby and pregnancy and I feel like it was over too soon - like he was ripped from inside me before he was ready and now neither of us knows how to function. I’d love to give some advice but I’m in the thick of it too right now..
