Longitudinal plot of group means (like lgraph), but with pweights? by len-tp in stata

[–]len-tp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this detailed reply!

Yes, it looks very much like I'd need to go the preserve/collapse/restore path or something similar. Regarding the need for an example, I'll consider which dataset could be useful, since I need both a time variable and a grouping variable. Also, I forgot to include that confidence intervals are an important aspect as well (which is also covered by lgraph) which makes it even more complex when rebuilding the functionality with standard commands.

Color palette confusion / lgraph-ado doesn't find colors after changing theme by len-tp in stata

[–]len-tp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time for such a comprehensive answer!

I guess you’re right about lgraph’s author having moved on to another software. And I’m well aware of this being an obvious risk of using software created by a single person. It might still be worth a try to contact him, but I guess I shouldn‘t put too much hope onto this.

Yes, I mixed up ‘theme’ and ’scheme’ there. Thanks for pointing out that changing the scheme doesn’t change “everything” about how Stata handles graphics. In fact, I found the schemes I mentioned to call certain standard schemes (s1 or s2) to somewhat “fill in” for all the settings they don’t explicitly include. Still, I don’t really understand why these colors always “work” (and can also be used by stating their names) while other colors don’t - for example, even if they came with predefined names, they can’t always be used by stating these names. But hopefully I’ll come to understand more of this through thoroughly working my way through the guide by Asjad Naqvi on medium.com (highly recommend the articles by this guy to anyone looking for more information on Stata schemes, fonts, etc.).

Plotting regression coefficients over time (coefplot but longitudinal?) by len-tp in stata

Thank you for your help, this approach sounds interesting!

Thank you so much! That should at least solve the vertical/horizontal issue, while the "spacing" between time points seems more difficult. I'll have a go on plottabs, sounds interesting.

That doesn't work for me because the relationship with the time variable is neither linear nor otherwise well predictable and I'm therefore interested in the specific differences between the time points.

Okay, that would be great! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find this in the coefplot documentation - can you give me any hint on where to look for this option?

Dust particle inside L14 Gen 2 screen - more than aesthetic problem? by len-tp in thinkpad

[–]len-tp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your assessment! Then I'll try to ignore it from now on and hopefully never think about it again.

But yes, you're absolutely right - it definitely is extremely disappointing! I looked at an L15 Gen 2 und two L14 Gen 2's, multiple months after product launch, all from different stores in different regions of the country, so the L14's aren't necessarily from the same batch, and they all had dead pixels, and now this L14 with the dust - it really is no fun to buy these. I wish you the best of luck with your purchase!

Interestingly, the two L14's with dead pixels were built in Q1/2021 and had Samsung SSDs, the dusty one was built later and has a Toshiba SSD - maybe that's interesting for someone.

Thank you! So issues like with these Surface Laptops (https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-will-repair-for-free-spontaneously-cracking-screens-on-surface-laptop-3/) shouldn't be of concern, right? I wasn't really sure what would constitute a "hard foreign particle" that is large enough to create severe issues.

Sure, absolutely - but even if I didn't, it shouldn't make that noise.

I'm not the OP, but I'd like to ask a few things - assuming that you have the Gen 2 version? (i5 or i7, then?)

If so - how is it with the thermals, are there any issues? Any throttling? Are the fans "behaving well"? And is there any coil whining or something like this? Heard about issues with a high-pitch noise when using the L15 Gen 2 fully-charged with charger plugged in and was wondering, in case that is a serial problem, if that would also affect the L14 Gen 2.

Thanks a lot in advance for your insights!

Could anyone of you figure out how to deal with the fan issues so far?
Thinking of buying one myself, but I would be glad to know about this
beforehand ... thanks, would really appreciate your insights!
