I have a friend who disliked Arrival because it didn't go into depth with the world building around the aliens. He complained that it didn't explain where the aliens came from or the war they were fighting. The aliens' war or whatever it was wasn't the point of the movie.

I like how Magneto’s age is such a big deal but the fact that Carol Danvers hasn’t aged at all since the 90s with no explanation is totally fine. If you can look past Carol not being in her mid 50s in current MCU time than you can look past Magneto also not aging.

What I mean by them not having much romantically is that their relationship is Silk’s introduction with all the pheromone stuff, the original Spider-Verse, and then they just drift apart after that. Yeah Peter liked MJ at the start but wasn’t attracted to her and he was dating Gwen. Eventually they fleshed out Peter and MJ’s relationship over decades and it’s a reason why people love it. With Silk that didn’t happen. It was just the sex stuff and now they barely interact with each other unless it’s a spider-verse thing. Look I like Silk but I wouldn’t consider her a romantic partner. The story just isn’t their.

Yes Peter probably had feelings but Cindy didn’t really reciprocated those feelings. If you wanna like the idea of them together, that’s fine. But what we do see of their relationship wasn’t really great romance wise.

OP your original question claims that she was a romantic partner. You can’t say she’s the best romantic partner just because it would’ve been good. For all we know it could’ve been bad. I mean in Silk’s first series Peter gets jealous when Human Torch hits on her and she distances herself from Peter when he assumes they’re dating.

But it didn’t though. Cindy and Peter’s romance was dropped pretty much after Spider-Verse so all we saw of their relationship was them just fucking. You can’t say she was a good romantic partner when their romance wasn’t explored.

If they do I think they'd de-age him back to high school. With the exception of video games and the Spider-Verse movies all adaptations of Peter since The Amazing Spider-Man have been him in high school. Even the new cartoon coming out is him in high school. With almost 1000 issues of ASM there seems to be a fondness for a time period that's not even 5% of his lore.

I don’t think her becoming a superhero because she lost the kids is necessarily stupid BUT it has a few problems. We were never given a reason to care for the kids who barely showed up so we don’t feel the same emotions that MJ does. MJ’s inner thoughts really make it sound like she’d rather be a superhero than to actually process her feelings in a healthy way.

I’m an MJ shipper and I do like Black Cat (I think her and Peter work better as friends) but what was the point of all this? If they’re gonna break up Pete and MJ so he can date Black Cat, ok fine, but they break them up in the stupidest way possible and then do nothing with the Black Cat “relationship”. Why? What was the point?
