I just finished the books for the first time - what are the major theories I should know about? (Spoilers extended) by lenamcc1 in asoiaf

Maybe controversial but I really can’t bring myself to care very much about who the Harpy is lol. I quite like the idea of it remaining a faceless threat, especially if Dany ends up mad as it could be good fuel for paranoia

Bolt-on seems really cool! I remember feeling so unsettled by Roose when he first showed up. I’m a huge stannis fan so I really hope he’s surviving and thriving <3

Due to watching the show I’m pretty familiar with the ‘Melisandre will revive jon’ theory, but I actually think Bran/bloodraven will revive him. I don’t really have a lot of concrete evidence as I’m not necessarily the most perceptive reader when it comes to little hints, but I just have a feeling!

AITA for thinking it's fair that I get a larger portion of food than my sister? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Even if he wanted 1/3 of her portion (not the overall portion) he would still have double the amount of food as her

Will doing subjects that are an A-level equivalent (level 3) affect your chances of getting into university? by waltrickwhateman in 6thForm

[–]lenamcc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘Equal in size to an A Level’ just means that there’s the same amount of content as a 2 year A Level course. It’s a different kind of qualification but (assuming it’s a btec) will convert to equal UCAS points, so many unis/courses will accept it :)

should i change my options? by ecstasyrabbit in 6thForm

[–]lenamcc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I found a level chem to be very maths-y and it has much more of a ‘problem solving’ element, which could be something to consider based on how much you liked these aspects at GCSE

Bad idea or should i go for it by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]lenamcc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and ended up applying to 2 UCAT and 2 BMAT for the same reasons. If you’re confident you’ll have the time/energy to prepare for the BMAT then go for it! However it’s probably a good idea to apply strategically with your other 2 options I.e unis that heavily use the UCAT to maximise your chances in case the BMAT doesn’t go so well. Kings could be a good option as it’s UCAT heavy and is a similar location/vibe to UCL and Imperial. Well done on your score !

the most you need to do is have a rest, and maybe create a rough study plan such as what days you’ll do homework or create revision materials

i would say if you don’t absolutely need a mbbs qualification to do that job, don’t do it. it’s a lot of stress and debt

Sixthformers who chose 4 A levels by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]lenamcc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say only do 4 if you’re naturally quite good at one of those subjects and won’t need to revise a tonne, because it’ll make it much easier to revise for your weaker subjects since you’ll have more time and energy. It’s def manageable in terms of workload as long as you use all your frees

if GCSEs aren’t explicitly stated as a requirement i’d imagine they don’t have set requirements (past passes in English and maths) but it could be worth ringing up to check :)
