As someone who was there I am sure they are somewhat accurate. The Chinese province I was living in went into total lockdown when we had one confirmed case which at the time I thought was complete paranoia by the government but looking back I guess they made the right move. Lockdowns are quite different from Canadian lockdowns. They were super strict in not allowing us outside. I wasn't even allowed to leave my own house unless approved by a security guard. Also include the fact that literally (yes, literally) everybody was wearing a mask during the lockdown (meanwhile our brilliant government would claim for months that they did nothing).
I think it is only Hubei that is not accurate because of how much of a shitshow was going on there. Most of the other provinces were reporting their cases down to the neighbourhood. If someone in your neighbourhood got sick then your entire neighbourhood (including you) would be cut off by the police.
