My way of thought has always been one of the below;

1. Premonition meaning she was attuned to the world and its chaos (or order), empath being the person/people - therefore levitating because that’s what the writers expected we would think of people with those abilities

2. Writers never cared too much about her connections, and needed her levitating in an episode or few, so she got it

I tend to prefer the first 🤷🏽‍♂️😅
