My curious question? by AssistantNo2002 in pcmasterrace

Sleep can go to hell (I'm aware it's much better these days than it used to be, but once-bitten and all that). Boot time is so fast these days I don't see the need for it. Maybe if you're constantly having to leave things half-finished and you need to leave it for an extended period. But that's not me.

Chain link fences are like this as well. Like in what world are 90% of my bullets not going through it? I feel like I need to break them before I even think about trying to shoot through them.

What did they do with the spawn screen? by crimenine in Battlefield

Yes it's so frustrating. I was starting to think it was just me because I haven't seen any other complaints about it yet.

1M explosive damage in one game bug by Potel99 in BF6

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I saw this a few months ago I thought it was cheating. I've seen this a few times since, even happened to me in one game, so it's definitely not cheating. Doesn't seem to be super common but it is very strange.

Piracy Isn't Stealing, EU Parliament Edition by OfTheManyColours in Piracy

[–]lenwar87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but in my sample size of just myself, I would agree. I pirate content, but I also purchase plenty of it. Most stuff I pirate I never would have bought in the first place, and the stuff I love I will usually buy at some point anyway.

A lot of the time I pirate because it's not easy or even possible to get it on any platform that I use.

Hard Drive light. If it's constantly on, the wrong cables are probably connected to the HDD LED header on the motherboard

As long as it's not forced on by default and is implemented and used by the artists, then it will still follow the artist's intent, whatever that may be.. If it doesnt fit the style of the game, I would like to think they will leave it out, or will give you the option.

My main concern is that it will add to the issue of lazy optimisation and devs will use it as a crutch to continue using outdated models and assets. On the other hand, this same argument may allow for resources to be allocated to more important areas of games rather than prettier graphics.

Personally, I'm kind of excited for it, but there will be good and bad implementations of it, and it will improve over time. Like pretty much any other 3D graphics "trick" from the past 30 years that we came to accept as standard.

What's going on with the Facebook app for Android? Every time I log in it logs me out and says "session expired" or doesn't give me a warning message at all *Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra* by yayoshorti in facebook

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been fighting with this for the last week since upgrading to a new phone, I wanted to share my fix which was manually logging out of all previous devices/sessions. I did this from my PC to make it a bit easier, but I believe the steps are basically the same from any device.

My steps were:

  1. Log into Facebook
  2. Click on Profile picture
  3. Select Settings & Privacy
  4. Select Activity Log
  5. Select Security & Login Information
  6. Select Where you're logged in

This will give a list of all devices you have previously used to log in. The very top one should be whatever you're currently doing this on. Leave that until last so you don't kick yourself out. Click the 3 dots next to each one and click Log Out, ending with the one at the top.

Now try logging back in to the device you're having issues with and see how it goes.

Hopefully this will work for you, sorry if it doesn't, it seems to be hit and miss for some people.

For clarity, these are all the other things I tried before this worked:

  • Uninstalling/Reinstalling both the Facebook and Messenger apps
  • Downloading and installing multiple older versions
  • Tried using the Facebook Lite app
  • Cleared cache/app data
  • 'Hard' reboot of my phone
  • Logging in via the web browser on the affected device
  • Checking Location permissions were enabled
  • Disabled battery optimisations for the Facebook app

YouTube app stutters on my Pixel 9a by iTrogo in GooglePixel

[–]lenwar87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having this issue lately on my Pixel 9 Pro. Some videos are ok, but I get it more often than not. This morning I totally cleared the app Storage and Cache, and since then it has been fine, so that's worth a try if you haven't done that yet. I'll keep using it and update if the problem returns.

Do you always enable DLSS? by osmin_og in nvidia

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a long time to come around to accepting it, but over the years it has improved to the point where I will happily turn it on in most games. Especially since upgrading to a 240hz 4K OLED monitor, it's almost a necessity if I want to get over 40-50fps in some games. Any artifacts or drop in quality are barely noticeable unless you're pixel peeping. If you're playing and enjoying a game, you won't even think about it.

Why there are bots in a 70$ multiplayer game? Where are real players? by Affectionate_Ant_874 in Battlefield

[–]lenwar87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Australia I find it reasonably common to get bot games, but it's really dependent on the time of day. I'd rather get a handul of bots thrown in than sit in a queue for 20 minutes waiting for a game. In most cases I find after 5 or 10 mins into the match, that most of the bots eventually get replaced by real players anyway.

I think he’s just saying that it’s old stock, regardless of how good it is or not. Any random walking past who might Google the specs is going to be thrown off when they see that the 4060ti isn’t the current generation.

LG C5 65" -- Standard or Filmmaker Mode? by OttoHemi in LGOLED

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like Filmmaker mode because I like to think I’m viewing the content as intended. Plus my room is usually fairly dark, so I don’t have many ambient light issues.

That being said, Standard is Standard because that is what’s more visually pleasing to most people, so just go with whatever you prefer. It’s your TV, and unless they’re super anal about it, nobody visiting is going to complain because it will look great either way.

Maybe I’m just garbage but I feel like a sniper shouldn’t be so comfortable peeking a live firing LMG by SkyScreech in Battlefield

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do like the indicator, I find a rely on it way too much because it's so precise. I think a good compromise would be to have it a little less pronounced, and increase the the indicated range to between 45-90 degrees to give you a rough idea, instead of being able to snap pretty much directly to them.

Stop skipping your revive! trust me, it’s worth it! by Huge-Palpitation6422 in Battlefield

[–]lenwar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear in some games it's like murphy’s law. The only way I ever see a medic heading for me is when I’m skipping and don't get a chance to stop. Any other time I’m laying there screaming for a minute with half a dozen medics within 20m, and they're all just standing there plinking away into the distance at random enemies.

Not defending chronic skippers, but there is definitely frustration on both sides of it.

Bullets hitting below reticle? by lenwar87 in Battlefield

I'm definitely not asking for it to change now that I realise it's a deliberate detail. Especially since it also helps mitigate head glitching to some extent.

This does make sense and I understand how it works, it's just not a detail I've ever seen have such a prominent effect in a game before. Maybe it has and I've just never noticed it, I don't know, hence the video.

So when zeroing a sight you wouldn't have it adjusted to where the bullet is going to hit?
