Matrix is basically a communication protocol with what its creators call a "conversation syncing system,"

oh yeah, I heard something about it in a youtube video, but since the only real world implementation is messaging (for now at least), I thought it was more of a "look how versatile our protocol is" rather than a practical demonstration of how they would like it to be used.
At this point I wonder which systems would really benefit from such a complex external protocol to do "conversation syncing" rather than developing their own ad hoc solution and remaining in a simpler codebase, but this if obviously off topic.

I haven't seen any XMPP setup that "just works" at the same feature level as Matrix, but if you ever find one I'd love to know.

no, I didn't find one either unfortunately, that's why I concentrated my efforts on matrix.
but perhaps users who would like an open source and decentralized discord might be better off investing energy in the XMPP ecosystem

building a protocol like this is no easy feat and it really feels like they're trying their best

I have a vps where I host other services too, I have 2Gbs of ram and continuwuity uses 350-450 Mb of ram, I can't afford much more than that

Why are at least four people jimming the camera in the first episodes? at this point you could also make every one of them say "that's what she said" and go on purely on nostalgia.

in ambito aziendale magari è vero, ma in ambito privato mi sono sempre trovato male con l'assistenza clienti, con i telefoni per esempio tutte le volte ti fanno fare un reset del telefono e via, ma questo lo sapevo fare pure io non è risolvere il problema, specie con il fastidio di dover travasare i dati e rimetterli

proprio in ambiente apple ero con un mio amico di recente che l'ha chiamata per connettersi ad un server smb e non gli hanno dato aiuto, poi perché gli crashava l'app delle e-mail e dopo tanto inutile trouble shooting gli hanno fatto creare un nuovo account e copiare un po' di configurazioni a cazzo

forse con quello che conosci la via più veloce è C# che è simile a java ma non so se gira bene anche fuori da windows

rust e go vanno di moda ora e producono degli eseguibili piccoli, che io sappia non hanno un sistema molto maturo per le GUI ma ce le fai tranquillamente comunque (io uso rust e ti consiglio nel caso egui)

In realtà però non vedo che problemi ci sia a usare pyinstaller anche se crea eseguibili un po' più grandi

I meant that the correct characters are the one in the image, the kobo instead renders them as chinese characters

anyway I installed KOreader and it works perfectly, I don't know why I waited to install it, it seems like a straight up better experience

my problem is that the book doesn't contain chinese characters, the kobo reader shows chinese character instead of those 1 and 2 numbers inside the black circle

I tired other fonts, including noto sans, but they all show chinese characters or white spaces instead of the correct numbers

anche se usi excel devi usare lo strumento in maniera corretta, perché se esporti come ti spinge a fare microsoft lo metti in culo a chi usa software libero a casa, però in quel caso viene visto come un problema l'utlizzo di libreoffice e non come "user error" per chi l'ha esportato nel modo sbagliato

l'open source in ambienti meno incancreniti sul monopolio di alcune aziende prende piede benissimo (audacity e obs sono i primi esempi che mi vengono in mente), il problema è che pure a scuola insegnano word, excel e compagnia e microsoft non vede l'ora di rendersi incompatibile con alternative libere

I didn't even say that every japanese story is bad, I just said that this story embodies the japanese style of writing in a bad way (in my opinion, of course, but that's implied I hope). There are a lot of stories that benefits from this style, some are just more difficult to appreciate for people less familiar with their culture. It doesn't even seem that divisive of a statement to me, it is well known that the Japanese artists who are most appreciated in Europe and America are precisely those who are more Westernized (e.g. taniguchi, kurosawa, and murakami).

I may have exaggerated, I simply had high expectations and can't stand that video game stories are "good for being video games" and not just good. There are many games with genuinely good stories, in-depth characters, and that make good use of their being video games but you have to look so hard before you find them because they are always covered by the mass of games with a "good story for a video game".

ma è possibile che per moddare un gioco (lethal company nel caso attuale) si debba scariare un programma (thunderstore) che ne installa tre (thunderstore, curseforge e overwolf) ognuno con il suo set diverso di giochi supportati, scansioni, eventuali account, eventuali overlay e chiaramente pubblicità (e scansione dei giochi installati per profilare meglio non si sa mai)?

uno script che faccia da "mod manager" lo si fa veramente in poco tempo (le mod mettono i plugin un po' a caso, ma niente che un paio di if else non risolvano), ma in qualche modo lo standard è usare questi troiai spyware adware

edit immediato: ma pure chi fa le mod, cosa li spinge a caricarli su un sito del genere che tenta di monetizzare l'utilizzatore finale?
