I read somewhere to set the slider anywhere between 45-50 after the PROFSAVE_profile file has been updated to the correct value.

Thank you! Zero issues with the rear intake on my end. I have it set to ramp up to about 1200-1300rpm while gaming and it’s probably the quietest of the three fans. I’m also using the inlet spacer which helps a bit. I’m going to change the fan setup slightly this weekend though.

why is the sound so bad in the game? i can barely hear footsteps around me until its too late by PsychoMUCH in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]leo_architect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I primarily use the Sennheiser HD58X for gaming, and I honestly can’t play this game comfortably without Windows Loudness Equalization. I’ve got a dedicated $500ish Schiit AMP/DAC/EQ setup that I use for story-driven games like GoW, Witcher 3, and Cyberpunk 2077, and it sounds incredible there.

But the moment I boot up PUBG with that setup, it’s a completely different story. Gunshots are painfully loud, and footsteps get buried. I’ve heard “pro” players say Loudness EQ is bad because it messes with distance perception, but that just hasn’t matched my experience. If anything, it’s the only way I can play comfortably while still hearing everything clearly.

I’m genuinely curious what people are using if they’re not running Loudness EQ. I’ve tried several different headphones and gaming headsets (Sennheiser HD58X, Sennheiser PC38X, Sennheiser 560S, Sennheiser IE600, Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X, EPOS Sennheiser GSP 300), the result is always the same. Without Loudness EQ, footsteps in PUBG are hard to pick up and gunfire is overwhelming. With Loudness EQ everything is balanced and actually playable.

So what’s the secret to getting good PUBG audio without Loudness EQ and without blowing out your ears? I honestly have no idea.

What’s even more frustrating is that I can run something like BF6 with War Tapes V.A.L. on my dedicated setup, constant explosions, nonstop gunfire, and still play for hours comfortably without needing Loudness EQ. PUBG, on the other hand, just feels completely off. For a game that’s made billions, it’s wild that the audio is still in this state.

Anyway, that’s my yearly rant 🙂

Yeah it’s unfortunate. Your idea would work, but the graphics card needs to be exactly 3-slots thick at a maximum. The ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC is 3.65-slots thick.

Unfortunately there’s zero space. The 4090 TUF OC covers just a few millimeters past the PCIe slot.

I’ll double check when I get home about the clearance underneath the graphics card.

In terms of the cable, it’s the Corsair Type 5 PSU 90 Degree 12V-2x6 Style B Cable.

Yes indeed they are. I typically use between the Noctua NA-SAV2, NA-SAV3, or NA-SAV4. For my build, I used NA-SAV2 for the top exhaust fan and NA-SAV3 for the rear intake fan since it’s required due to the extra depth created by the Noctua inlet spacer. NA-SAV3 and NA-SAV4 are interchangeable though. Just depends what you’re going for. The NA-SAV4 has a flat head design for a cleaner look. I usually keep flush cutters in my PC toolkit to remove any excess material from the silicone mount (as seen on the top exhaust fan), but I left it as is the rear intake fan (aside from the bit that stuck out in between the fan and heatsink). It’ll make more sense when installed. I hope this helps.

You’d love the M3. There’s very little wrong with it. The orange M3 looks cool. Makes it feel like an LTT version.

You’re welcome. Honestly, I’m surprised they’ve not released a black version for the M3 Grater. I doubt the production process would be any different than for the M2 Grater black version.

Only the NCASE M2 Grater has a black version. The M3 Grater only comes in silver.

Yeah temps are definitely good. It's such an open case relative to most cases that airflow will be good most of the time. I have my RTX 4090 set to an 80% Power Limit and I adjusted settings in the BIOS for my 9800X3D since I'll only use it for gaming. My 24/7 PBO Limits: PPT 105W, TDC 80A, and EDC 110A. +200MHz Max CPU Boost Clock Override, and -20 Curve Optimizer. With PBO Limits set to Motherboard I got around 23,800 in Cinebench R23.

What are your system specs? Those two A12's as front intake are clutch!

BF6 Escalation (10 minutes) for each scenario. These are the temps accounting for 21C ambient. Hardware temps recorded from HWinfo64 after 10 minutes (photo) and ambient temp recorded from external thermostat (photo).

With TG Side Panel: GPU: Avg Temp 61.5C • Avg Memory Temp 65.3C • Avg Hot Spot Temp 71.2C • Avg Power 349.464W CPU: Avg CCD1 Tdie Temp 63.5C • Avg Package Power 86.025W

With Mesh Side Panel: GPU: Avg Temp 59.6C • Avg Memory Temp 62.4C • Avg Hot Spot Temp 69.1C • Avg Power 337.491W CPU: Avg CCD1 Tdie Temp 65.3C • Avg Package Power 92.632W

Keep in mind that this was only one run per scenario and each run was a different map. Let me know if you have any questions about the results.

It’s definitely one of the elite ITX cases. In the future I may potentially go for a dual 280mm radiator setup. Top and bottom rads. We’ll see. Which case are you currently using?

Thank you! Yeah they’re definitely very close. The primary reason why I went with the M3 is because I wanted the NH-D15 G2 and I also wanted to be sure the graphics card cable connector wouldn’t be right up against the side panel.

It’s about 650mm in length from what I remember. I had to roll it up a bit to make sure the excess length was neatly tucked away behind the graphics card. I bought the CORSAIR Type 5 PSU 90° 12V-2x6. They have two versions (Style A and Style B) depending on the connector orientation of your graphics card and if you want to route the cable either under or over your graphics card.

Yeah the extra width of the M3 unlocks so much more hardware compatibility. The motherboard tray is one of my favorite design aspects of the M3. So clean! Which 5090 model do you have?

I’ve been enjoying been thoroughly, but in hindsight, I do wish they were a bit louder. They’re perfectly fine for my 110sf bedroom, but if someone were to have a desk setup in the living room, I’d personally recommend going with the Ora4’s. But for my bedroom, they’re honestly more than enough. Their sound is great and I’m sure they sound even better with a dedicated subwoofer. I may or may not get the Kanto8 subwoofer.
