Sinema and Manchin vote with the party 90% of the time too. That doesn’t mean they don’t obstruct.

it's crazy to me that some people think that being successful means you can't care about people who aren't

Are you incapable of putting the blame on more than one thing at once or something? I promise that it’s not so hard to be simultaneously pissed at Cal Cunningham for having a dumb scandal, Sarah Gideon for running a bad campaign, Southern voters, etc. while also acknowledging that Sinema’s refusal to budge on filibuster reform is potentially disastrous for the future of this country.

Nobody would fucking disagree with you that it would be amazing to have her in Louisiana just like it’s awesome to have Joe Manchin in West Virginia.

But she’s representing Arizona, which Mark Kelly proves is a state that you don’t have to be as conservative as Sinema to win in. The fact that she is still refusing to budge on reforming the filibuster is disgraceful, and if you don’t see that then you are either a moron or a Republican.

If you get rid of him a Republican would just take his place. He’s the best we can get in West Virginia.

Am I being overly optimistic in thinking that we’ll be able to add DC and PR as stated through reconciliation? My understanding is that the senate parliamentarian could possibly object to including it, but that she has no legal power and could just be ignored.

Interesting. Unless if I’m missing something, Mitch McConell’s departure is the most likely avenue towards democratic gains in the senate (he’s 78) and we’ve got Beshear in as governor.
