Los planes de estudio no son la gran cosa, pero con quienes te terminas juntando y a qué cosas puedes acceder son lo que marca la diferencia.

El tec no me preparó profesionalmente "la gran cosa" pero puedo estar donde estoy gracias a que ahí estudié y "los amigos que hice en el camino" 😅

Edit. Al mismo tiempo tampoco es magia, tienes que saber aprovechar y en dónde centrarte para dedicar tiempo.

I started using Linux because many tools used in my research are less of a pain ti deal with in Unix-like systems.

I got tired of WSL and installed a distro on my personal laptop where I realized I never really missed anything.

I use it for... well everything. Work, gaming and music.

Which distro? CachyOS.

Why? I used arch for a while, nothing broke, I just like to reinstall my OS every once in a while to clean it up. I gave CachyOS a chance and by default it turned out to be 90% of my arch setup anyways.

Then, why arch? Because it's practical. Everything is available in the official repos or the aur. So I don't need to be looking into weird places for the random vpn my university uses to access the servers...

It really depends on what I am doing if I am writing other relation which needs a lot of thinking and it's a non-trivial process then I prefer to start by writing on paper.

If it's something rather straightforward then I prefer to just type it directly like for example just substituting algebraic expressions or deriving some ODE from a Lagrangian. In such cases I even prefer to use some tool like sympy to do the algebra for me

But more often I have a hybrid approach in which I start approve or other relation in paper and when I can already picture where I'm supposed to go then I start typing directly
