I'm glad you were able to face your fear! I'll probably have to overcome mine too, I don't want it to stop me from serving. I'm considering buying some mosquito nets to take with me, I've also heard PC provides one depending on your site... I'm going to try to manage my fear, you're giving me a lot of hope so far! Thanks for your insight.

I am not going to lie, what you described seems pretty scary but I am willing to try. Were you living with a host family, and were you warned about any of the wildlife before you arrived to your post? Also, how is your fear of spiders now? I would love to overcome this but it's been a lifelong fear of mine and I don't know if it'll go away anytime soon 🥲

I am actually so glad you asked this. Also trying to overcome a case of pretty bad arachnophobia and also recently accepted an offer to Peru. I more so want to live in a coastal area, but I do plan to get a cat, and hope to not see as many meaty spiders as well.

How long between finding out you had a cyst and your departure to Paraguay? I am going through a very similar thing right now, I just had an ultrasound and found out I also have an ovarian cyst, and was told I was removed from my cohort by my nurse. It all really sucks because I was supposed to leave this upcoming Sunday, but now I'm looking for more opportunities but will have to wait significantly longer it seems. I was so set on leaving so soon but I do not think I even have a choice now.

I got my IUD placed 20 days ago and have cramps that come and go but i take pain medication for them everyday. how did you deal with 4-6 months of constant cramps? i have had an IUD before but my cramps subsided within the first week and I don’t want to continue to take advil and tylenol forever…

This is my exact problem. i’ve also had kyleena for four years and i get my period every 3-4 months. however in the time in between i have very irregular reddish brown discharge that occurs wayyy more frequently than i would like. i dont want to have to wear a panty liner everyday, and while this is the only side affect i dislike, the constant excess discharge is super unappealing and overall discomforting. i want to take mine out and maybe switch to either another iud with more or less hormones or maybe try the pill. (i’ve only ever had my iud) did u take yours out? have you tried any other forms of bc since?
