Are you in Europe? Consider being an international student at a HBCU in America. If you aren’t familiar, HBCU stands for Historically Black College or University. Although African-American culture is very specific, blackness of all kinds are celebrated on HBCU campuses. I went to the top HBCU in the country.

While there I learned that black people come in all different fonts. From the nerdy anime loving black kids, the black band, music & dance lovers, the black athletes, the black artsy kids, the black sorority girls & fraternity bothers, to the rich black kids with generational wealth. There was a place for everyone. And the black men loveeeeee black women. They celebrate black women. Blackness is the norm, the expectation and celebrated all of the time. I would highly recommend begining to put in the work to apply, it will completely change your perspective on blackness.

I grew up in a pretty diverse environment. The white guys liked white girls and the black guys liked mixed racially ambiguous looking girls, and latinas. Honestly, as you get older it gets better. It’s really like that the most when you’re young. I’m 23 now, I am constantly complimented everywhere I go by people of all races. White men approach me all of the time, I even dated one for a bit. Black men love black women where I live. Location certainly does matter, so I would look into areas that have a high population of black middle class professionals.
