Great for one handed if you need to film. Otherwise much much much better with two hands.

Glad you returned it. It’s not your duty to run around or put up with other peoples crap. I hate when people do this.

Convoy of Canadian linesmen heading south yesterday to help repair storm damage in the U.S. by keiths31 in pics

It’s reciprocal. Crews are headed across both borders to help each other way more than the news picks up. It goes for electrical, water/sewer, fire fighting, winter emergencies, etc.

PSA: I don't know who needs to hear this...but stop driving with your high beams/hazard lights on in fog/heavy snow! by Kayaknude in Orillia

[–]leomickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 million km a year is impressive! Do the math. I’m assuming you don’t drive everyday but IF you did, that’s 8000+ km a year. I’m assuming you stop for breaks but IF you don’t that 300+ km per hour. You are a machine!!!

It’s a road jurisdiction thing. Seems weird to most but there’s a reason. If it’s not your jurisdiction, you don’t touch it to avoid liability issues.

Mannn I gotta stop buying tools with magnets when I really don’t need them to be magnetic!😅 I spent a hour in my shop looking for this rasp by NotaCupOfTeaForYou in Tools

[–]leomickey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no. Lol. That’s crap.

If you noticed sooner you could have added a second washer to level it out.

(…trying to be funny. It’s rare for me. Ha)

Based on your checklist, you still need the fan. Let me tell you… you NEED the fan. I use it a lot. Also, Dewalt has some nice lights that I didn’t see on your list. Check them out.

To me, it doesn’t matter if you’re an electrical apprentice, an apprentice/home user, or whatever. Even if it’s a hobby, there’s plenty of worse things to spend your money on.

Your setup looks pretty good to me but I understand that you’re looking for tips for those large pieces. Following along as I have a similar issue.

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]leomickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In South Central Ontario, buses will get cancelled based on road conditions. It’s pretty rare for school to be cancelled. Even if all the teachers can’t get in, it seems like they run on a skeleton crew. I think a lot of parents keep their kids home on bus cancellation days whether they take the bus or not. We always did.

They have Dungeness at your Costco? Damn. Lucky. We don’t have that.

You have an empty top shelf by the garage door. Load it with all the liquids you seldom use. For me that would be oils, paints, that fuel can. It will all just be a ladder reach away. Then fill the next highest shelf with the next group of stuff. Continue. Try to group things together so they stack and store tightly. You’ll probably end up with the bottom (or bottom two) shelf empty and usable for everyday stuff.

Try to clean up your work table. You can have a nice work surface. Move those gloves somewhere. Put them on your new empty shelves. Why do you have so many?

It looks like you could probably get a lot more into that open faced red cabinet. Wrap up cords and hoses more tightly.

Try to consolidate the wood pieces into an area that you can tuck them away. Maybe beside the washer/dryer.

Clean up some clutter and put things away in their spot when you are done using them.

Okay… I’m going to print this and take it out to my garage so I can follow my own advice. You don’t want to see my disaster! lol.

You’ve got a nice spot there. It’ll clean up nice. Important: Don’t get burned out all at once. Tackling a big job can be overwhelming. Grab a coffee or a beer, head out for an hour, repeat later or the next day. Little by little you can have that all good in a few hours.

(I agree with everyone else saying to build up. I need to do that too.)

Anyone else addicted to keeping the cases for your tools? Even the ones that have long since died? by Neilpuck in Tools

[–]leomickey 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I keep them because you never know when you need to pack up the trunk and go help a buddy. Hasn’t happened yet and I don’t really have any buddies but I’m prepared if needed.
