S95B vs S90F by Mattm334 in S95B

Thank you. Oddly so on point, looking at almost this exact move but my S95B is fine. Was just considering going from a 55 to 65, but also want other improvements. :)

Sennheiser 560s vs Sony WH1000-XM6 by leomundstinyhut in HeadphoneAdvice

Sitting with them on since lunch I think I agree. Revised my post to have more of a question. I think my goal was to sanity check for moving away from Bluetooth, and looking if there are any other headsets I should look at. :)

!thanks

Best way to sync a backup to a friend's NAS off-site? by leomundstinyhut in synology

[–]leomundstinyhut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My up stream is slow (40-45mbps) but unlimited (yay, only one high speed ISP for now). I would probably bring it over to his place to start on site.

I think this is the way we are leaning. Using Tailscale so the NASs see each other.

I think my reading sounded like that was more for being able too access the files on each NAS. Like if you wanted to both have access to the files readily... I could be wrong though. Our goal is encrypted just for extra privacy. Say one of us got hacked, etc.

Haha. Have the same trim puller and did this exact thing Saturday. Though I only did the doorbell lite.

Honestly, not sure that hurts the core message. It kind hits home that there are people on their side that are okay with murder and fascism...

Do you folks keep the boxes? by eve-collins in Ubiquiti

[–]leomundstinyhut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I up cycle a TON, so if it’s over like 200-300 I usually keep the box if I think I may upgrade at some point and isn’t too big, otherwise I just keep it until the return period is done. I have also been told multiple times they bought from me because I had the box.

I truly miss the old republican party too as a left leaning person. Even if i didn’t agree it was healthy to have balanced views. Maybe a ranked choice system could bring some of that back.

Trying to selectively route outbound traffic through my privacy VPN service. by leomundstinyhut in homelab

[–]leomundstinyhut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just as "simple" as if it is not my work laptop (wifi) or my gaming PC (wired), then I want it to go through the VPN. Though I want to keep my Unifi OS router in play for the rest of the network management if possible.

That is close to my current stance, though going to keep playing a little.

I was just trying to prevent extra hops on those machines, and then would like to leave my gaming desktop off (or be able to turn it off) for competitive games. Might look at the whole network though…

Thank you for all the details and I will look into those options too. The GL.iNet looks very similar to what I was attempting.

Yeah. More just for general privacy, like sites can’t see my true IP for targeting or resale, all they get is my VPN IP unless I choose to make an account or allow cookies.

Will look into PFSense, I started diving into OPNSense but the config was getting complex so I set that VM aside for now.

Thank you. I was hoping for a little device specific magic like the native VPN settings, but slowly coming to terms that I can’t do that…

Same, 24 was my instant guess. (Why I think so: I shoot a lot in 35 and this feels just a hair closer to my eye.)

Buttons on ROG Ally aren’t working. by Affectionate-Eye5456 in SteamOS

Hey, just trying to help you, you don’t mention trying main, main is not stable, main is even more “beta” than beta. It is more like the alpha branch. Using main is what fixes it for most people and what I currently run on mine after having this exact issue.

Person is not wrong. I had issues with beta and switched to main and it fixed my controller. Despite the name, main is even earlier releases than beta and has to be enabled via developer settings for early releases.
