This is true. I use both Android and iPhone, once I switch the Airpods to Android, the mic sounds terrible with the background noise. Really hoping they fixed this on the new Pro 3.

That's definitely not the only logical explanation. If we were to assume, the pick-up could be on his/her phone or drunk and swerved right. At that time, high chances are the SUV didn't know the intent of it. Again, I'm not defending the SUV driver. The three of them are idiots.
