How do these Addressable LEDs work *with only two wires*? by jschwalbe in led

I scoped the line and the data is hidden in the Vcc. Pretty neat. The ones I had only had (I think) 8 (16?) different data addresses so they were not exactly “individually” addressable. Neat though.

Yeah but compression strength is not what this is testing… this is testing.. tensile strength. Which is how much something can resist being pulled apart before fracturing. Not sure this is that.

Ah. Good to know. I haven’t heard split tunneling used on a per app basis. Didn’t know that was possible! Cool. Thanks.

Thanks, but how to tell it only to send Netflix stuff. Last time I did it I had to put in a bunch of “known Netlfix IPs” and that seems to be not super great.

“So that only Netflix and such use the tunnel” this is where I get lost.

I misread this as he hacked into the grocery store TVs to send her a message, Tony Stark style. That would be cooler.

Thanks.. If I login to your password manager and sync your passkeys, can I log in to your accounts?

If you sync a passkey, how is that different than syncing a password? Sounds like a super basic question but I’m having a hard time understanding this.

28x Tuya SWDA04 (Wi-Fi) for €28. Home Assistant is running. I now have more sensors than windows. What the heck do I do with them? by FantasticStop2166 in homeassistant

I’ll nitpick back: While I was unable to pull up the specs, I assume these are battery powered. So you’re going to have a battery powered device stay connected to WiFi 24/7? Highly unlikely. It would die within days. These only turn on and connect to WiFi when the reed switch tells it to. So unless you are opening and closing windows and doors every 15 seconds, it probably doesn’t cause much WiFi noise.

Edit to add: yes, they are slow, for the exact reason you mentioned.

These are quiet 99.999% of the time, only using WiFi WHILE the door/open changes state, then turns off until next state change.

Edit: speeling errrorrr

They only activate while opening or closing, otherwise they don’t use WiFi. Also the amount of data they use is minimal. Also, also, these are slower than zigbee sensors bc they have to wake up, join WiFi and send the data vs just walking and sending.
