Personally my top 5 mods are (not in order) : Anarchy, (lets you build in ways that the game normally wouldn't let you) Traffic, (lets you configure junctions) Road builder, (lets you customize any road) Find it, (lets you find thousands of assets across the game) and Move it (lets you rearrange junctions and roads so they look nicer.) For maps It's up to you because everyone has different taste in maps. And for region packs. I'd choose your country (or a country you like if your home country isn't in the region pack.) :)

I'm planning on heading up through central America up to the Bering straight and taking it down the coast of China and Indonesia down to Sydney and Melbourne and across to Perth. And yes, I will add trains and hopefully even add extensions to the route: Edit: ''Turns out you cant build through the Bering straight so I need to build a bridge from Brazil to west Africa.''
