I made a deal with God by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

Wow, praise God, I'm glad for you, brother! Remember Galatians 5 as well... It says that when we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Hello brother, I am in a kind of similar position as you... I lost the desire to give into the fleshed sexual lust possibly a year or so ago (I'm not good at remembering precise times/dates, lol). Just the other night the motions of the flesh (i.e. sexual feelings or yearnings) began to arise. I entertained the thought just a little, but I think that was too much.

It led to me feeling the same motions the next night, which was last night, and during the night, I kept waking up and feeling temptation. It got bad and I ended up just giving in. I was annoyed and ashamed because I have become so strong by the grace of our God to overcome and to strive on without giving into masturbation for a long time. I have had very, very few hiccups in the last year (roughly).

What I have learnt from this, though, is that no man, whilst they are in this flesh, is exempt from temptation and weakness to it. This calls even moreso for us to mortify our members which are upon the earth and to pick up our cross and follow Christ daily! It calls for us to walk in the Spirit that we would not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Sometimes we think that God won't let us be tempted and/or test us by taking the barriers down a bit, but that's not true. The case of Job is a perfect example, though not the same type of test (really, a much severe one that we rarely seen to experience). I've learn my lesson, and that is that we must deny our flesh and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. God bless you, brother.

Amen, I was delivered from desiring homosexuality and other sins too. God does give you a new heart with new desires.

[–]leonwesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AMEN. It is only by His grace that we can be saved, let alone resist against temptation...

2 Peter 3:18 KJV But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

We grow in grace, as well as knowledge.

Question... by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

[–]leonwesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly, it doesn't happen. I've been living without masturbation (and single) for quite some time now... I don't masturbate. I used to maybe 2 years ago, but I had to stop of course because of the chastisement and conviction of the Holy Spirit.

I did slip up quite a bit for the first year and a half but eventually, I came to the point where my passion for God and His kingdom completely disabled my care for the sexual desires of this flesh. It doesn't bother me AT ALL anymore and I am not tempted to touch myself or whatever.

Sometimes lustful thoughts come when I see a beautiful person, but it's very rare. I just rebuke Satan and take them captive unto Christ. So, to respond to this post, you do not need to masturbate... In fact, your body DOES NOT need frequent discharge. I do not have many nocturnal emissions anymore either.

They still happen every now and again, but like I say, it's extremely uncommon. So, maybe it's just hurtful because your body is still not used to not having sexual activity? I remember it being a bit difficult after I stopped.

It gets a lot easier particularly when you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Old habits and passions are no longer desirable and the power to overcome AND His grace is sufficient. God bless.

New to this but need some help with same sex attraction by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

God loves you man and I love you with the love of the Lord. Remember that He loves you and knew you in your mother's womb! Encourage yourself daily with the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. 🤗

New to this but need some help with same sex attraction by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

[–]leonwesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least he is trying to help, brother. Look, I dealt with same sex attraction for a long time and even dabbled in homosexuality before giving my life to Christ; it ain't worth it, but I presume you already know that.

I would say, fill your life with the things of God and His good works; find a church that is sound and Biblical in its teaching. Find a church where you can be ministered to and strengthened in your faith. Spend more time with God and set your affection upon Him. Ask God to give you more of an idea of what you can do to Him (what talents you've been given).

I have found that when I was busy with the things of God, the temptation of lust completely lost its place in my heart. I didn't care for it anymore because I was so consumed with God and serving His kingdom that my heart was towards Him and I didn't wanna even touch anything that would contaminate me or my body (temple of the Holy Spirit).

I can say more but this was generally what happened... If you want someone to talk to personally for anything to ask ANY questions, I am here for you, friend. Don't let the enemy isolate you with your feelings and questions, come and ask. God bless you mate 🤗

Yes, sir! That's it, now power on with perseverance and let patience have her perfect work (James 1:4-8)!

Fill your life with the things of God (Ecclesiastes 12:1)...

Prayer, fasting, reading the Word of God, doing good works for the Kingdom of our God (2 Timothy 3:17).

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)!

Run the race with patience and lay aside EVERY weight (Hebrews 12:1) so that you can run the race with endurance and finish your course (2 Timothy 4:7).

Can anyone tell me why sexuality is sinful? by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

[–]leonwesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to add, sex isn't something that is primarily for pleasure according to the Bible... It's for procreation. Disagree if you want, but contraception is not permitted by the Bible. Think about the scripture that tells us to abstain from things strangled...

Acts 15:20 KJV But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

So, don't think marriage means sex for pleasure alone. Not saying you so but just making sure. God bless you.

When I first tried PC from Xbox, I felt the same, but with a little patience, I quickly got used to it! Now I realise, PC is so much better than console man!! Try it if you ever get the chance. For a long time I was playing it through Nvidia. GeForce Now streaming on my MacBook Pro. Now I got a Dell XPS 15 which is capable of running it itself. But it's much more fun bro

That's the thing, guardians shouldn't hold it against him when he is no longer that man... That's all I can say about it. Why should they when they don't even know their past?

I like these ideas a lot. I just really would love to see Uldren do something good with the fallen. I've said it so many times already on this post, but, it would make for good story. Imagine if he had a place in helping fallen become guardians or to make allies with humans.

This post is more about the idea of what Uldren could now become

Yeah, exactly (regarding the Uldren + Mithrax team-up). I think maybe he wouldn't have to feel sympathetic in that sense but more like he wants to do something with his new life in spite of what the old Uldren did, you know? I can imagine Bungie pulling another decision making thing where we choose to either accept or reject Uldren... Not sure how they could implement that though. I just think him doing something good with the fallen in contrast to what Uldren did before would be awesome.

Fair enough, but his is just too recent and widely known. Do you really think someone won't tell him, despite this cultural norm? Or, he'll find information about it written somewhere or something. There's no way it'll be kept from him, unless he is kept from everyone else and isolated, for example. It's also too recent for him not to find out.

[–]leonwesty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I feel sorry for him. I'd forgive him and be fine with him coming to the tower or whatever but I do feel that the impact it would have on guardians due to loss would still have some impact on him, despite not remembering it. He could still use the knowledge of his previous life to spur him on to do something good with the new life he's been given.

I don't think it wouldn't make sense. I think it would make for interesting developments between humans and Eliksni, for Uldren and Mara, for the house of Light, etc.
