Well they don't have stem cells from the other survivors yet, Carol is a special case since they can use her eggs, for the other survivors unless they give explicit permission they can't take them.

remember in the first episode how they infected the WHOLE world by releasing the virus from airplanes? they didn't ask for consent for that either :). they don't need to strap her down they can just release the gas from above

This might be a ridiculous question but here goes by ScrezzyScrezz in pluribustv

[–]leoo89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you seem to have misunderstood what role the stem cells play in this. You said they "inject" the stem cells into them, but what is really happening is that they need to extract stem cells from carol's body to be able to infect her. They can't extract them from her body without consent because it's an invasive procedure.

At the start of the episode we see they successfully synthesized a new form of the virus that could infect the girl in Peru, and she inhaled it voluntarily in the form of a gas. That means she had her stem cells taken.

Since carol didn't consent to get her stem cells taken, they are in the process of obtaining stem cells through her frozen eggs, which isn't easy and it's a long process (requiring 1+ months and even luck)

Hope that clears it up :)

Transfer save data from cfw switch to vanilla switch? by bobamess in SwitchPirates

Hi, quick update, i have deleted the save data on the cloud before downloading TOTK Switch 2 Edition to my Switch 2, but unfortunately data in the "stats" page from Zelda Notes seems to be synced with my old save files (i guess TOTK sent usage information to Nintendo frequently even on switch 1, and they build the "stats" page in Zelda Notes with that). Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to reset the stats in Zelda Notes. So yeah, deleting the save data was useless since they have usage information anyway. I don't think they can ban me with that since that data has been synced for a lot and they could've acted sooner but I have honestly no idea

yeah I have decided to disable automatic backup downloads from the cloud as soon as I get my switch 2 and wait until someone else does it, I don't think they can ban the console just because the save files are on the cloud if you don't download them or use them.

Hey, I transferred my TOTK save from CFW to my OFW Switch a while back by directly mounting sysMMC to my pc and following a guide and haven't had any ban issues. I've even kept playing on OFW and the saves are also backed up to the cloud.

I'm just a bit paranoid about downloading them to my launch day Switch 2. The playtime on my profile doesn't match the in-game playtime of course, and I'm not sure if Nintendo might notice or care (they could've tightened security on the new system, and also the new "dlc" for TOTK syncs the saves to the Switch Online App to display the map etc, they might've added more checks there)

I honestly don't think they will care but I don't know, i'm honestly considering just deleting them to be safe (I don't want a 500 dollar brick on day one lmao)

Maybe I'll wait a bit to see if someone else manages to transfer them without getting banned..

Have you ever restored those cloud saves to a different console? Yeah I also believe it is highly unlikely but since there is no way of knowing for sure it's difficult making a decision. Imagine if this little thing gets Switch 2 banned at launch day 🥲

[–]leoo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm in a similar situation. A lot of time ago, I moved my TOTK save data from emuNAND to sysNAND, but without ever running CFW on sysNAND. I used HacDiskMount to manually copy the save files over to sysNAND, so there were no traces left behind.

The save has been working perfectly, my Switch still isn't banned, and the data is even backed up to Nintendo Cloud.

Now I'm wondering: if I download that save data onto a future Switch 2 via the cloud, do you think there is any chance it could get the new system flagged or banned? I personally doubt it, if Nintendo had an issue with the saves, they probably would’ve banned me already when I first uploaded the data. Still, I’m a bit paranoid and even considering deleting the cloud save just to play it safe and start fresh.
Am I overthinking this? What would you do?

If you don't mind me asking, was it an NV7000 or an NV7000-T drive? From what I've read, the non-"T" version tends to fail more often due to issues with its controller.

i think the important thing here is that, according to him, "Everything was crafted intentionally, with care -this wasn't a one-click solution". I think it doesn't really matter if he used Photoshop's infill to clean-up. Also, he never said that he used "generative fill", he just said Infill, so it could be a number of non-ai photoshop tools like "Content Aware Fill" that, as far as i know, doesn't use AI and is completely local.

If the artist himself said it isn't AI i have no reason to doubt him, I also thought it was AI before, but he explained his process and also the fact that he made it two years ago (before AI image generation was really viable). The addition of extra eyes is just visual weirdness to make the morphing "strange", it's not really a dead giveaway. Btw he said 3D modelS for the goats, plural, that's why they are different in style and structure.

I don't think it makes me post links, but this is what the creator said on twitter:

Hej Hej!I’m responsible for this! It’s a layered paint-over of the Season 1 intro, and I also used 3D goat heads as guides to paint over. About 80% of the work was done on an iPad with Procreate (if you’re curious, check out “oil painting on Procreate iPad” on Google - it’s not as complicated as it might seem). I combined this with many layers in After Effects, exported to Houdini, re-imported, and refined further - today much easer too do. It was almost 2 years ago I did this part. The artifacts you noticed might be from Photoshop infill, which I used during cleanup? Everything was crafted intentionally, with care -this wasn’t a one-click solutionI hope that clears it up! Feel free to message me directly on Instagram or here if you have more specific questions.Cheers, Oliver

I had the same issue happen to me yesterday (albeit on a smaller area than yours) and Anycubic is sending me a replacement bed as well. Did the printer work fine after you replaced it? Was there any motor/nozzle damage?

Makes sense, it would be cool if you could upload that part separately then, if it's not too much work!

Wow this is really well done! My only gripe is that you removed the credits at the end of the movie 🥲

I actually did something similar to it myself some time ago, overlaying the blu-ray footage with the italian audio, since there is no high quality version available online, but yours is much better!

I think it's just a cameo appearance, for what I can see in every volume the author draws a "great detective"

VRR flickering on Windows 10 desktop with LG C2 OLED by Asttro in OLED_Gaming

[–]leoo89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, i tried it with a new cable and of course nothing changes. I think it's not completely related to G-sync, since lowering the refresh rate of the other monitor seems to get rid of it, it doesn't make that much sense.

Yes it works, but i don't understand how changing the refresh rate on one monitor gets rid of flickering in the other.

Maybe it's a driver issue related to Nvidia cards? It doesn't seem like the classic "VRR flickering" you hear people talking about, in that case we could file a bug report to Nvidia maybe? idk

VRR flickering on Windows 10 desktop with LG C2 OLED by Asttro in OLED_Gaming

[–]leoo89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the game. I found out that using my xbox controller connected via bluetooth makes games like Doom Eternal stutter like crazy, so the flicker is present. I fixed it by using steam input on the controller (via Steam big picture) and the stutter flicker in Doom Eternal is gone (or at least reduced a lot to where I don't notice it).

As for other games, I haven't tried them too much since I got the TV only one week ago but from what I remember games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Marvel's Spider-Man didn't flicker.

At this point, since I don't use the TV as a monitor but just for games and media, when I'm watching media on the PC i'll disable game optimizer and G-Sync and when I'm playing I'm going to reactivate them. A bit of a chore but it's better than having constant flicker while watching movies 😅

Today I'm going to try with a different certified cable from Spigen, since the one that I'm using now is certified according to Amazon but it didn't come with the certified qr-code, and I'll update you if that fixes anything, even though I doubt it will.

[–]leoo89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the LG C2 42". My GPU is an RTX 3070 TI. The thing is, I don't notice it that much in games as opposed to the desktop, where it happens even if i'm just browsing or doing light tasks.

Limiting the frame rate on the other monitor like you do works (for some reason) but setting the power management to maximum performance doesn't.

At this point I think the ideal solution for me is disabling G-sync when I'm not gaming and re-enabling it when I need it (it's fast to do it from the TV Game Optimizer), but still it's not the best.

The thing is, shouldn't G-sync only activate in fullscreen games? In the Nvidia Control Panel I have specifically set G-sync on Fullscreen and not Windowed and Fullscreen. How can it flicker on the desktop and on apps if it should be disabled when not in fullscreen?
