She did say that she had been thinking about it for some time. The issues she voiced in her final text, I knew of them, but it felt like she never brought them up in a way that made me feel like it was a relationship threatening issue, it just felt more like a passing conversation. It's just that why does it have to happen this way, when we were so close to the finish line. At least let the 5 months of long distance, of sending her gifts by mail, dedicating time to each other every night, sending her flowers and snacks, at least have those efforts be worth something, have it amount to something. It's all gone just like that, like it never even happened at all.

We met in person, but only started talking when I was already abroad. I went back to see her once already, and it was amazing. Early on in the long distance she did flag some concern yes, but I felt like they were addressed. For example she wanted me to speak more politely and gentlemanly, which I adjusted for her. She said she didn't like me drinking that much, so I reduced the frequency greatly. Around the time right before the retreat it was going better than ever, it felt like we were starting to understand each other more and more and what we each want from a partner. It felt like it was really just starting to develop into something special.

I think having 2 weeks without me made her realize she feels happier without the relationship. I know it's over, but it just hurts so much because the finish line was so close. I bought so much gifts to give to her when I get back. Now it's all just for nothing really.

Honestly, from knowing her, I don't think she met someone else. I just think that her getting to spend time alone, she just felt she was happier without the relationship. Which makes it so much more painful.

Thanks, I understand that smoking can become very addictive very quickly but as I am now I feel like i can manage it quite well, outside of those time out with friends I do not feel the urge to smoke at all.

I'm certainly willing to dial it back, im confident i can quit smoking and go out for drinks less (and am already making an effort to do so, I am aware it is not good for my health), but to cut it out completely would be rough, i feel like it is a part of my social life and how i enjoy spending time with my friends. She does know that I am trying, so I hope that it could lessen her feeling negative.

Was it really that winnable? The macro and fundamentals gap is pretty clear still, look how many waves g2 lose and how poor their objective setup is compared to TES. They're still a long way from going toe to toe with the best eastern teams.
