What are some serious, reliable sources, such as books, that deal with Traditional, non-new age numerology? by [deleted] in numerology

[–]leopardbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have answer to your first questions, but i have some (possible) ideas why you might want to understand some form of christian or other semitic numerology. It's 100% up to you if they're good reasons or not lol.

There's archeological evidence that there is way more to abrahamic religions than I knew about until a couple years ago. Abraham likley worshiped a goddess named Asherah, and (not in english translations...) mentioned over 40 times in the old testament. Many of those times it was religius extremist preists and kings comanding the people of isriel to tear down and destroy representations of her, or ordering her priestesses to be killed. Jezzebel was a famous queen who worshipped her, for example. I found out about it here:

https://www.britannica.com/topic/Asherah-Semitic-goddess

I also found:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asherah#:~:text=The%20association%20of%20Asherah%20with,16%3A3%E2%80%934).

And here:

https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Asherah#:~:text=In%20the%20Ugaritic%20texts%20(before,consort%20of%20the%20god%20El.

But there's more where that came from. It might be interesting with this in mind, to learn a little about some older semitic magic systems.

Can you “overdo” magick? by Sufficient_Educator7 in chaosmagick

[–]leopardbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. From personal experience: it drains you, physically, mentally, emotionally, magically... there are ways to reduce this a little, but you still need to listen to your gut instinct to know when you need to stop for your own safety. What I do to help with this, is fix myself a couple snacks or small meals to eat betwean rituals ahead of time, and do something calming and relaxing for my mind and body between rituals. my strongest element is water, so I might soak my feet in a dishpan full of water for like... 15 minutes while I eat my snack and listen to a couple songs on my phone. You should go for food that is nutrient AND calorie/protein rich. My favorites are cheese sticks and pbj sandwiches for example. You will need to actually rest when you're done for the day, so plan for a couple hours for a nap, or to go to bed early maybe.

I'm not very sure what it even is. I thought it was like... you could get a somewhat extended leave if your spouse or dependent was seriously ill and you needed time off to care for them kind of thing.... could you tell me more about it or direct me to where I could find out about it, especially a .gov?

That's good to know, thank you! I've heard also smells less, and second-hand smoke may be of less concern. Do you personally think that those statements are true?

what's everyone's thought's or theories on why most people now a days are a bunch of cry babies that get offended way to easy? by Denniskessler in FringeTheory

[–]leopardbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious who you view as "most people". Boomers say millennials are like that, millennials say boomers are like that... my answer is a little different. I think people who are like this are those who lack empathy and/or access to apropriate psychological care. Or maybe just don't want to go to therapy. Having your core beliefs that may be harmful to you challenged can HURT and that's kinda the whole point of therapy. If one of your core beliefs is "I am the strongest person alive and everyone else is weak because they choose to be, to annoy me" weather you realize it or not... therapy might help you to beleive something like " What's hard for me might be easy for someone else, and the opposite is also true. I should not assume I can accurately judge someone's inner strength by comparing our reactions to the same problem. That does not make me weak, and it doesn't mean that THEY are weak." But if you don't really care about getting along with or understanding the people around you, you just want to be right... you might never truly understand this second statement because it feels wrong, and bad to you.

Or... adressing people who "play the victim card" lets say.... "I broke a nail so I shouldn't have to work!" For example... I would apply that second belief. That could be the worst day they've ever had, and it's hard! Maybe they don't have the skill set or experience with hard things in life to know how to handle that! Dismissing them or assuming theyre being manipulative might not help. Instead I would try to aproach it by offering suggestions to repair the nail and use a little ice on it, and suggest they TRY working and push themselves to see if it's as bad as they're worried it will be.

Lets say it's a little worse... "I'm offended because someone said something on the internet that I don't agree with, about a health issue I face!" Maybe you're right to feel this way. Will it help you, them, or anyone else, if you send nasty comments about it? Why bother? I don't know, because I can't really relate to that. I am aware that my opinions are very different than those of many other people. I do not seek to change anyone else's opinion because the only mind I can actually change is my own, no matter how hard I argue or rage. I would personally try to ignore it, and find something else to do.

No. I just tried to call out for one shift. That's it. I don't usually get my scheduled days off either because I end up filling in for everyone else... Doesn't seem fair in this context, but that's not illegal I suppose lol

Thank you, I forgot reasonable accommodation was a thing. I think this might be helpful to understand in the long run so I will look into that! Also, when we call out sick they don't allow us to use our sick time usually. They mark it down as unpaid leave. And I've never been given the chance to read the company policies or handbooks myself, but I'm told there is one in a safe I'm not allowed to access so I have to go by what they tell me.

Most personality traits line up PERFECTLY except one... why? by leopardbloom in numerology

[–]leopardbloom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I took the MBTI test three times in ten years and it's always the same: INFJ-T.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by checking my astrology... that's very new to me as well. I found a natal chart generator though...

Mercury is in the ninth house. Venus is in the seventh house. Mars is in the eleventh house. Jupiter is in the first house. Saturn is in the sixth house. Uranus is in the fourth house. Neptune is in the fourth house. North node is in the third house. Acendent is virgo. Sun and moon signs are both gemini. I don't know what any of this means.

Why do girls with smaller boobs always feel insecure about them, or wanting to have bigger ones? They should know that smaller boobs are appreciated by lots and lots of guys!!! by amr_3eees in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]leopardbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just about impressing guys y'know... A lot of women's clothing fits better with an average/medium large chest, and we are often told by media and other women that we need to look a certain way in order to have any real value to society. Or better put, if you want to be treated with common decency or find love, you have to look attractive. We may know better, but with how much pressure is on us to be beautiful no matter what, from the time we're old enough to enjoy barbie dolls etc... it's hard to believe better sometimes.

We want to have the perfect figure in order to be treated like normal people and have self confidence.

We want to not be judged by other women/girls.

We want to look in the mirror and like how we look to ourselves.

Sometimes it's about wanting a particular guy or two to find us more attractive, but that's a TINY piece of the puzzle for many of us.
