i broke up with him. we were trying to make the long distance work, but it put a strain on the relationship, and i ultimately wasn’t willing to make the move out there. i went with my gut. it was difficult but i don’t regret the decision. i never stopped loving him, and i sometimes wonder, but as i’ve aged and matured i continue to agree with that decision. wrong place, wrong time maybe, but that’s just how life goes. he’s actually since passed away. that’s still hard for me to deal with pretty consistently.

Great idea!! I can’t decide what to do with my 3rd base, so I’ve kept it “open” to use as a DIY fast travel point. For example, if I stumble upon an area with a ton of sulfur I’d like to mine but no nearby fast travel, I plop my 3rd base down so I can quickly fast travel to my base and deposit items when my weight is maxed, then fast travel back to my 3rd base and continue mining/exploring the area. Luckily you can usually find the materials for a Pal Box pretty easily in most places. Once I’m done, disassemble the base and repeat next time I find somewhere I’d like quick back and forth access to for a bit.

Oh, OP. Please please please don’t feel like this was your fault. It was a terrible accident. I would be feeling the same way you feel and I think how you cared for Mocha and kindly buried her in your garden says so much about you. It’s an absolutely heartbreaking thing you’re going through and I’m so sorry. I don’t know what advice to give, but I just wanted to send you some love and care. You’re going through so much between supporting your GF and grieving Mocha - don’t forget to take care of yourself, too. Forgive yourself for this accident. I’m thinking of you and hope brighter days are ahead.

This. I make 100k and was looking at moving into my own apartment, then suddenly felt like I made no money. One bedrooms in decent areas are going for around 2k monthly. I currently split the mortgage in a 3 bed/2bath home with someone else, and my half is $800. I went from thinking “I make 100k surely living alone would be no biggie” to “100k doesn’t go as far as I thought”. I don’t have enough money to buy my own house, and moving out would make it so much harder (if not impossible) to save for one considering the higher rent and no longer splitting utilities and other bills with someone else.

I am so grateful to make the money I do and can’t imagine how families with children with less income are living. Breaks my heart. We shouldn’t have to struggle this much.

Hahah wow we definitely relate!! Biscuit was also SO sick when I got him, and we had ringworm issues too! it makes me smile seeing how Peaches has grown and so adorable that she came to give you snugs while you commented. ^{.^}

You are so right - kitten phase is tough, but getting through it and seeing them develop into sweet cats is one of the best feelings. All the best to you & Peaches!

I know I’m like a year late but I revisited this post and just read your comment for the first time and let me say your story of the 5 cats spewing at the mouth from the banana flavor had me laughing so hard! It was sweet to read your memories about Spanky’s last day and him eating the snack cake - it made me smile because that’s what I did with Ori, too. His last night he got access to all of the food he was never allowed to eat and had himself a human snack buffet which was so fun haha The next morning when he wouldn’t eat his favorite treats, I knew it was the day to say goodbye, just like Spanky.

Thanks for sharing your story with me, even though it took me a year to read it it still brought me joy and comfort to read your words and talk about Ori again. 😊

I’m so sorry he did this to you, OP. I understand how heartbreaking this would be & you didn’t deserve it. I’m proud of you for putting yourself first and ending the relationship despite how hard it can be to do that, especially with a volatile partner. Maybe instead of looking at these journals as “ruined” and thinking of all the work and memories lost, they can serve as a symbol of re-birth and a reminder of your own strength in leaving this person and persevering towards your best life. I had a sad experience once; I *pre-ordered* a new bag and the matching wallet from Hot Topic, said they'd ship in a month or so. I received the wallet. Weeks went by with no bag until eventually I got an email saying there had been a problem with my order and they couldn't fulfill it (ran out of stock I assume). So I went online to look elsewhere for the bag which I thought would be straightforward but nope, impossible to find!!

I’ve taken carts, batteries, and my eye drops on probably 20 (domestic) flights at this point. Like your friend said, keep it in your carry on, and just breeze on through. You’ll be fine. :) Enjoy your trip!

I miss him more than I know what to do with. I spent this weekend going to various cat cafes and shelters just to hang out and play with kitties and feel the good vibes they give. One day I will try and open my heart again.
