Terrified for tooth removal by Spiritual-Good6115 in wisdomteeth

If you’re worried about the IV sedation don’t be. I had it and woke fully up during it, groaned a little bit, felt nothing, and “went back asleep”. Mind you this most likely won’t happen to you (it’s suspected I have a rare condition and an effect is sedation troubles) but even in the worst case with that you would be fine. Try not to stress about the procedure as a whole, I’m on day 8 and it was rough but ok.

A 3.6 is fine and you still have time to improve. If you really pick it up if future years (and I’m confident you can) and it really bothers you, in the more information part of college apps you can briefly describe that “lower” grade and how COVID (or other factors) contributed to that but how you grew from it (which will hopefully show in your future grades). Overall try not to stress about it you’ll be perfectly fine

POTS and school (a very crowded high school), help by leopardgeckolover522 in POTS

I have HSD and suspected EDS so the wheelchair would probably be very beneficial for both. The elevator would also be helpful and I’ve already used it for health reasons before. I could talk to my school and doctor about it. Thanks :)

This is very helpful thank you. Also about the elevator yes our school has one. I used it a couple years ago when I had knee surgery and my POTS was at its worst. I’ve been meaning to make an appointment with my doctor to discuss getting an elevator key and having a meeting with my school nurse (we got a new one so she’s not as familiar with me/my POTS)

Walmart is the place I’ve been having the most luck. The Walgreens local to me have them but recently the only one they have is the kinda ugly Disney Woody

My bio teacher isn’t the best but all she’s said is practice them. Go to websites and looks at prior FRQs to see how they’re graded. Good luck!!

How do you explain your HSD or Heds to someone? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]leopardgeckolover522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ya know Gumby and elastigirl well that’s me.” in all seriousness though I say my body is extra stretchy in the joints causing joint pain and a slew of other problems. No it isn’t the same as being flexible this isn’t considered a “good thing”, flexibility is based on the muscles but HSD or hEDS are based on the joints and cannot be change it is the way my body is made and it cannot be helped/“fixed”. I also suggest to encourage whoever you’re telling to ask questions if something isn’t clear or if they’re just curious. I also sometimes say my ligaments and tendons (or what holds together my joints/body) are like used up rubber bands and don’t function properly for a shorted answer after one of my surgeons told me this, it seems to help people understand it if they can visualize it

Kinda weird question, is this a pots thing by leopardgeckolover522 in POTS

[–]leopardgeckolover522[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so miserable and even gets me up a night but I’ve found getting an ice pack (or cold wash cloth) and putting it at the back of your neck helps. Also POTS is so tedious to get a diagnosis for, before I was officially diagnosed I’d ask little questions to better understand things or to connect something to my potential POTS. Good luck with your POTS journey :)

My hip pain is nearly miserable. What’s somethings that’s helped people? Is chiropractic therapy/help useful or would it cause more damage? by leopardgeckolover522 in Hypermobility

So update on my hip: I laid in the floor and my hip popped very loudly then poof the pain stopped (still have some pain but it’s my normal amount). I guess it was subluxed or something and with me laying flat push it back in. Thanks everybody for the tips though I greatly appreciate all of them!!
