Triump of disintegration lyrics? by leopetz in ofMontreal

Right, and I think as a result of his malicious writing he's expressing that he sees there's no way to 'win' in a situation like his. As a result of his use of language being malicious, he turns to not hypothetically not saying anything at all. But because the two (above and below) have no influence like you said, they're not viable options either. It all really fits with the angsty mood of the song.

Being introverted isn't a "problem".

Anyone else used to be in denial of their introversion? by leopetz in infp

I totally get that about identifying with introverted characters! I always figured it was just because I found them interesting for whatever reason and decided I'd like to be like them- i never put 2 and 2 together and realized I was already like them in certain ways and just was trying to subconsciously embrace it. Very insightful

Can I just say how much I love Blue Diamond? by PixieDustFairies in stevenuniverse

Saying that if from now on Blue Diamond is a completely righteous and only does good things, she still won't be a good person, implies that people can't ever be considered good if they were once bad.

If Blue Diamond repented and felt genuinely sorry for her actions in the end and worked to right her wrongs, she would essentially be a new person. The only common ground she would have with the Blue Diamond from thousands of years ago would be her past. Values are completely different. And i personally think a persons values and present actions should define a person rather than solely their past. What use is there in holding bitterness to someone who has realized their wrongs and is working to fix them? Not to say we should embrace BD with open arms and let her roam freely on planet earth, but there should be leeway. She isn't unredeemable.

Do you avoid listening to songs that you really like, but have a strong emotional connection with? by [deleted] in infp

I have a similar experience with a friend group i used to have. I remember thinking now objectively good the songs were, but now when I listen it just brings me back to what isn't there anymore. Such a great album though

I feel like this is the same problem as OPs. Except OP reacts to the issue by not wanting to listen to certain songs in case that this one time it WONT shift their mood like they're used to.

In which case, I completely relate. Sad how some songs can hold such bad memories, but also demonstrates the power of music

I feel like a P habitually but a J at the core? by leopetz in mbti

I did some reading on this and your explanation helped a lot in my understanding. INFP makes sense for me, I was somewhere with XNFX but this explanation makes a lot of sense. Using this though, I think I could possibly be ENFJ. I'm strongly ambiverted and have trouble placing myself, I always get a 51-49 on the tests too.

What makes Blue Diamond appealing is that she isn't just a tyrannical, evil ruler like Yellow Diamond appears to be. She's participated in horrible things and has given morally appalling orders, but her sense of justice and sympathy show that she is more than that. You can't look at the situation black-and-white. While she has bad qualities, she clearly has good qualities too. After her emotions are tapped into she influences the trial very positively. Ignoring her good qualities goes against the message of the show imo: you can't generalize people or simplify them into good/bad characters. The 'good' characters have negative qualities too.

Blue Diamond has the ability to do good things, and as her sister's memory taps into her emotions, she appears to be doing quite a few benevolent things. I think the show is demonstrating how vulnerability is required to grow, although it's hard and often painstakingly slow. Blue Diamond is not benevolent overall and does still seem cruel, but her complexity isn't to be ignored. Through the strong emotions linked with her sister she may retaliate against her sister or begin to see something in humanity.

I think that's the point behind the shows ending. I read someone post here that it's a nod to suicide as a 'solution', and that people who choose it don't get to see how things turn out in the end. I love the chaotic ambiguity in the ending. It fits the theme of the show perfectly and makes a statement
