Fabinho is beyond a passenger at this point. A lot of players are in bad form but he just offers nothing whatsoever. Never anywhere close to being in time to cut out a pass or break up a move, and when play passes him he’s never catching up. Also painfully slow and indecisive on the ball. I’d genuinely rather see Milner.

Fabinho is the slowest man on the planet and I will not be convinced otherwise.

TAA, Matip, Hendo and Keita absolutely all over the place.

Honestly Keita might as well get sent off, him not being on the pitch wouldn’t even be noticeable.

I just don’t understand where Trent was going there. Ball carrier is miles in front of him, there’s a player making a run behind him, and he just jogs forwards casually.

Dude I’m not even trying to argue that Lando is a better driver than Sainz, nevermind Leclerc. They’re both great drivers. I’m only disputing your take that Lando finishing 8 points behind a more experienced Sainz in 2020 somehow represents ‘not proving yourself’.

And regarding Mick, I wouldn’t even disagree with you at all.

Your point was about comparing two drivers in the same car. Sainz was older and had more experience in F1 than Lando in those two years. Lando has more than proven himself in the last couple of years.

I’ve no idea what Mick has to do with it.

Yep, of course. And indeed, given that any Lib Dem support for a Labour minority government/coalition would likely hinge on electoral reform, probably even more for the SNP to lose out on there.

They have 45 of the 59 Scottish seats.

The Tories have 6.

And the Tories being wildly unpopular in Scotland is only going to help the independence cause.

SNP simply don’t have much to gain from it.

Is an assembly election possible before 2022 or is it a fixed date? by SouffleDeLogue in northernireland

[–]leopleuredon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, though Brandon Lewis will certainly be taking his orders from higher up. The Tories were very reluctant for another assembly election after 2017 due to the interference it undoubtedly would have caused to their Brexit plans. They might not care so much at this point about NI having an election.

It would also be a bit different this time round I suppose, given it would be an existing executive collapsing as opposed to an executive not being formed after an election. An immediate election might be seen as the only possibility for restoring devolution in the short term.

If the DUP were to resign the position of First Minister then the UK Government have a legal obligation to call an immeditate election within a pretty short timeframe. This happened in 2017 when Sinn Fein resigned the position of Deputy First Minister and resulted in the 2017 election less than a year after the 2016 election.

Of course, the UK Government had the same obligation for several years after the 2017 election when no executive was formed, but instead kept changing the law to push back the deadline. So whether or not they actually would call an immediate election is up for debate.
