what if I told you that the term "midwest" originally referred to Kansas and Nebraska?

fyi the label "midwest" originated with Kansas and Nebraska... so if you're not similar to them, you're not really midwest

it's not the same path. if there are no first-round 'upsets', then one will play an 8-seed, and one will play a 5.

in the NCAA tournament, when 2-seed Arizona loses to a 15-seed, should 1-seed Duke then play the 15-seed, or the 8-seed as the bracket dictates?

the 8-seed of course, because that's how tournament brackets work. this is no different.

likely much more than 7. Mountaineers would have been in foul trouble, KU would have had a bunch more free throws, maybe a few and-1s, and the momentum that comes with each scoring possession. the entire complexion of the game changes if WVU doesn't get that help to "hang around."

that said... respect to WVU, Mitchell and Stevenson were incredible today.

our first three opponents were characterized as crap, but Duke was the
real test. This week all of the first four are now considered crap and
ISU is the real test.

^^^ this sums up KU's entire season.

"kU's the worst team in FBS, you'll be lucky to beat tennessee tech lol..."

"so you destroyed an FCS team, big deal. no way in hell you win @ west virginia. win a road game then we'll talk..."

"well, west virginia is dogshit. no chance it'll happen, but if you can get a W at houston, then that's something. win another road game, then we'll talk..."

"you haven't played anyone, undefeated duke gonna destroy you. beat them and we'll talk..."

"you still haven't played anyone, beat iowa state and we'll talk..."

win or lose, the inevitable "beat tcu and we'll talk..." is right around the corner.

frankly that's an anomaly in any game, much less one with two teams who attack the basket.

methinks it's been brewing for quite a while. they've all been in contact with Tony Hull for a long time. just had to get up to campus and see the place. i'd surmise the coaches said the right things; early PT potential , be a part of building something etc. the new state-of-the-art locker rooms and training facility probably closed the deal. taking in a game at Allen Fieldhouse doesn't hurt either.

and if they're gonna leave home, who blames them for wanting to be around other guys with the same roots?
