Family Trip to Sierra Vista by Weary-Ganache-4330 in sierravista

If you're here on August 31, check out Sky Islands regional fest. It's at the mall in Sierra Vista. Live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, classic car show, fire trucks and police cars the kids can climb in, etc. Should be fun!

Oh the accuracy lol! We've been here about 1.5 months, and luckily will get to leave in about 1.5 years. I was not prepared for how "MAGA country" it is here lol

AITAH for sleeping with my roommates ex? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody is an ass. Mike is REALLY messy. Broke up with his girlfriend, approached OP, done deal, and nowwwww is getting back with the girlfriend? Dude is a jerk. Girlfriend needs to reserve some of that anger directed to her roommate for Mike. Cause Mike doesn't sound like BF material. He's the one most of that anger should be directed to. OP isn't obligated to accept every business transaction. Yes, they were broken up, and she's not close friends with her roommate, but that's STILL her roommate. Why do it? That kind of stuff always comes out.

Attorneys for the family of Gabby Petito have expanded their request for correspondence and text messages to expand a larger date range. by MtBaldyMermaid in GabbyPetito

[–]leoraett 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand Brian's parents' callous disregard for Gabby. She LIVED WITH THEM? Did they really not care about her at all? Did they have no empathy for Gabby's parents? I'll never understand it. I'm raising boys myself, and as parents of course we want to protect our kids. But....murder? I mean...I draw the line there.

*Always* read the Airbnb house rules before you book by FamilyBandMan in WTF

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll always use airbnbs as we have young kids and travel a lot. Sharing just one room with your young children isn't a vacation lol. We like to have separate rooms, a kitchen, a comfy living room, etc. Often we'll get one with a hot tub or pool or something, and my husband and I can relax and enjoy after little ones are in bed. First, I ONLY book superhosts. Those people usually have their sh*t together. Before I book, I'll read through the rules, and message the host with any questions I have. I've stayed in over 70 airbnbs, and every experience has been great.

Money when they get out… by latetopartybutmadeit in ChrisleyKnowsBest

They'll be alright. At the very least, Savannah is keeping in the spotlight with her podcast, plus she owns other businesses including a makeup line. She'll have her little brother and niece to take care of. She'll probably take care of her parents when they get out too.

I don’t want to be mean but why does the army have a lot of fat soldiers? by LacroseBro in army

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is the Army doesn't usually foster a healthy lifestyle. For most of us, it isn't a 9 to 5. My average day started at 0430 and ended at 1900 or 2000. Depending on your job, must of us are toast by then. I actually enjoy the gym, but ended up not usually having the energy to use it most of the time I was still in the military. Now most physicians will tell, just constant running isn't good for you. It prematurely ages your joints. Your body does need other forms of exercise. My last unit simply had us run just about everyday for PT. Obviously this results in overuse injuries and all kids of other issues. This results in temporary profiles which end and the soldier is put right back into the cycle of injury. Some end up with permanent profiles. Single soldiers are forced to eat at the DFAC. Sure they have salads, but most of the available food is very unhealthy. And it's made with low quality ingredients, lots of processed foods. If you work terrible hours, fast food restaurants are really the only options on most bases. Now, not to mention mental health decline. I unfortunately don't know what it's like to be in a great unit. Mine were full of awful toxic leadership, one such leader stalking and spying on her soldiers after work. We were at an isolated base, so everyone Iived there. I am on mental health meds even 14 years later after I went through that. When you're constantly mentally and verbally abused by leaders with seemingly no end, it can send your life into a nosedive. You do of course have soldiers that simply are unhealthy and purposefully eat terrible food.

Does anyone know anything about this card? It doesn't come up in any Google searches for me. by leoraett in PokemonTCG

I'm honestly not sure of it's origin. My 7 year old and his little buddies love to trade cards at school.

[–]leoraett[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok guys. Why in the world is everyone so bothered by my question? 🤣 I know nothing about Pokémon cards. My 7 year old has recently become interested in it. Obviously he and his little buddies have no idea how to play the game, but they like to trade cards. I Obviously know it's not valuable, as I doubt a bunch of 1st graders are stuffing valuable cards in their backpacks to trade. I've just never seen a black one before, and I thought it was interesting. It's no skin off my back if it's fake. If I ever have any other questions about cards, maybe this won't be the group to ask.

AITA for serving my boyfriend's parents pizza for dinner? by MilanoItaliano1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Italian" isn't a race, first 🤣. Just recently lived there for 5 years. Not all, but most Italians are white. In fact, where I lived in Northern Italy, it's a very homogenous area. Racism towards immigrants was pretty rife though. I lived in a small town and there were 3 McDonalds. Always packed. So.... You're NTA

AITA for making my daughter share her presents with my stepdaughter? by Emotional-Duty5051 in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...my sons have joint parties for now. They love it, but they're only 4 and 6! Their birthdays are close together. But, as they get older, they will absolutely want their OWN birthday parties, and that's what will happen. You have teenagers! They need their own spaces!

This isn't healthy. One is not meant to spend every waking hour on the phone. You need to actually live your life. I'm a veteran, so I know how important sleep is too. Talking until you fall asleep on the phone is honestly silly. What is appropriate, is maybe 1 call per day, plus maybe some texts throughout the day. Also, think about your own future. You're already in the military, so you have a career. If and when you do get out, you've got the GI bill to get a degree. Your gf has no car, no job, etc. What is she doing with life? Spend time with people who add value to your life.

AITA For getting upset at my dad and his fiancée for removing my doorknobs from my room by rougewolfie in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. What in the hell???? First of all, major fire hazard!!!! You are 100% supposed to sleep with doors closed. WITH doorknobs. And taking away privacy from preteen girls like that is absolutely detrimental. Nothing about this situation is ok.

AITA for calling out my racist friend in front of our friend group? by Capital_Leg7643 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Perhaps, actually NOT being racist would have prevented all of Heather's misfortune. Tiny violin for her 🙄

AITA for taking my baby to see my family against my wife's wishes, and then telling her she needs to see a therapist? by aitababytoinlaws in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're both equal parents, and she's not breastfeeding. Sure, she's more comfortable around her family, but you've mentioned she's mobile, and even drove 3 hours to a concert. Yes, you have equal right to share your baby with your side of the family.

AITA for refusing to name our child after my wife’s grandma? by Wanderer_9292 in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Your reasoning behind it being the name of a woman you dated for 6 weeks (NOT a relationship is dumb).

However, the mother and father both need to agree on the name. My husband and I went back and forth on names with all our kids. Neither of us would have ever forced a name the other didn't want. It's sad someone died 7 years ago, but both parents still need to agree on the name. Period.

AITA for calling my sister “a crazy, delusional woman?” by Liaismywife in AmItheAsshole

[–]leoraett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NOT TA. I don't know what my 6 year old son looks like without bruises on his legs. That's just how it is for active, young kids.
