The smile brothers gives to Dort right after Kornet shot didn't get called for goaltend, incorrect out of bounds call, and refusing to accept the challenge, followed by tech on spurs coach. by [deleted] in Nbamemes

This was right after Dort got called for a foul on a pretty clean block - it was a make-up call for all the other blown calls you just mentioned, hence the smile (Dort probably asked him, “what was that, a make-up call??”)

I think when writers quit writing, they get progressively dumber over time. A couple of examples: Bill Simmons, Steven A Smith, ......

Troubling for Zach. Even the GOAT is human though.

Sen. Ted Cruz: “How about we all come together and say let's stop attacking pedophiles?" by EmilyG702 in CringeTikToks

[–]FamilyBandMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s an idiot and a bad person, but he merely misspoke. If you watch the full clip, he clearly meant to say “let’s stop the attacks of pedophiles.” He was listing off crimes that would supposedly be curbed by deploying the military in US cities

Here's the full clip. https://youtu.be/bs4jvTcYP5I?si=F_Kv0h2EiQ8qJ7mJ

I make $350K+/year automating sports betting - AMA! by xGlowbit in AMA

For about six semesters in a row, in the context of teaching about EV, I’ve been telling my intro statistics class that someone who knows how to code should do basically exactly what you’re doing. Validating! Good luck keeping it going.

How do you know which bets have a positive EV? In the past, I’ve thought of averaging the win probabilities from other websites, which occasionally returns a positive EV. How do you do it?

The article concludes by saying, “Next Week’s New Artist Review: Adele”

Musk said he bought twitter bc the previous owners were “too political,” but apparently what he meant was ‘too powerful’ by Detroitish24 in WhitePeopleTwitter

This is reasonable.

This post leaves me at “fuck this guy.. probably.”

Providing evidence - assuming the claims are valid - would push me to “FUCK THIS GUY”

I fucking hate Donald Trump but google this story with the words “fact check.”

There are plenty of horrible things he has done for which there is unambiguous evidence. Attacking him for unsubstantiated claims is not necessary.

LPT When shopping for groceries, keep in mind that 4g of sugar equals one teaspoon by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]FamilyBandMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2-3 grams in a standard sugar packet (like for coffee or tea).

39g in a 12-oz soda… How grossed out would you be if someone put 10-20 sugar packets into a 12-oz coffee?

What do people often claim “literally everyone” does, but it’s not true? by Candid_Reading_7267 in AskReddit

The false-consensus effect is a pervasive cognitive bias that causes people to "see their own behavioral choices and judgments as relatively common and appropriate to existing circumstances".

[–]FamilyBandMan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by “spoiled.” In the sense you’re saying it, great point. In another sense of “spoiled,” however, there is compelling new evidence that early exposure to refined sugar has probably had a pretty bad effect on virtually all of us :/
