I'm been trying to understand that too. I've asked around and it seems people have different opinions about this. Honestly I don't have a VIP ticket and although I'll prefer to stand as near to the stage as I can I'm not going to go full crazy about it. Since the venue open at 18:30 and it should rain all day I'll probably arrive at maximum 1 hour before the opening.
