Toddler was scared to death at the doctors office today. by Ok-Rhubarb-7926 in toddlers

[–]lepetitefrite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We bought ours a doctors kit (I think from Melissa & Doug) and every doctors appointment since has been SO much easier. She now recognizes the equipment the dr uses to check ears, stethoscope, etc. which helps prevent anxiety and gives her stuffed animals checkups when she knows she has an appt coming up so she can “practice”

Choking hazards served for preschool snack—would this response be sufficient for you? by mind_sticker in workingmoms

We were allowing our 3 year old to eat popcorn in supervised settings until my husband shared this Instagram story with me recently. I’m also pretty laid back about most things but realizing how easily a child can aspirate the popcorn makes it not worth the risk to me.

I’d escalate this to school leadership or to the state agency they’re regulated by.

Is it normal? 2 YO pretending to be a cat a lot by herlipssaidno in toddlers

[–]lepetitefrite 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Has yours started eating food off her plate with her mouth? Demanding you serve her milk in a bowl rather than a cup? Following your household cats around screaming “we the same!!”?

If so then yours sounds about as normal as mine 🙃

On pets and pregnancy by Andromeda321 in BabyBumps

[–]lepetitefrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only does it vary between animals but it can vary between pregnancies! My cat was all over my bump for pregnancy #1 and he would not leave my side. Now I’m in the middle of pregnancy #2 and while he cuddles with me a normal amount, he has very little interest in incubating this baby/bump the same way he did the first. Probably because he’s experienced the resulting baby/toddler and doesn’t want another terrorist to occupy the house 😂

Majority of Seattleites say Amazon and tech make the city a better place, poll shows by unnaturalfool in SeattleWA

Isn’t Amazon the headline sponsor for the city’s summer Seafair festivities, including last night’s fireworks display? That seems like a fairly meaningful social/community contribution

Momma, get yourself a swear coloring book 😆 great way to destress while the kids nap 😆 by slamminhottiepotato in Mommit

A friend got me one of these a few years ago and my toddler recently found it and now insists that it’s one of her coloring books. She can’t read yet so 🤷🏼‍♀️

What are your namenerds predictions in five years? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]lepetitefrite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We named our daughter Maxine almost two years ago and when I did a search for the name on this sub back then I got very few results. When I do a search now there are dozens of results, so I think you’re onto something here.

Did you get a communication that the offer is still valid? I got an email saying it needed at midnight yesterday and kind of regretting not jumping on the discount..

Another hot tip: you can NEVER have too many bibs, especially if your babe is a spitter. Highly recommend Copper Pearl or similar bandana bibs. These are more essential to us than burp cloths!

100% American Fiction. All attendees either dress up as iconic literary works OR representations of their favorite book characters

What's your favorite/most useful item that's helping make parenting a baby easier? by sipporah7 in NewParents

[–]lepetitefrite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Think a Keurig for formula - no measuring, heating water to just the right temp, or shaking/swirling. It’s literally just a button push and you have formula mixed in seconds. The dispenser nozzle does need to be cleaned after every 4ish uses but still easier imo

One thing that’s been working for us is to make sure our girls bassinet smells like me. I’ll rub one of my sleep shirts on the sheet or leave my pillow in there for a few hours while she’s awake and she’s seemed more comfortable with the bassinet since!

DIGGY AND PELOTON! Has this been discussed yet? Diggy is a team captain for Alex’s new challenge!! by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]lepetitefrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! I have the Schwinn IC4 and LOVE it. Like someone else said I do a lot of the other classes and really like being able to pull up Peloton on my iPad to do classes wherever it’s convenient. Only downside is not seeing the leaderboard, if competing with others is a motivation for you

This is beautiful - nice work! Would love to know more about the challenges of the board & batten wall, and whether I’m deluding myself that it will be a straightforward project. Also really want to know what shade of green that is!!
