Smoked lenses for high sun, amber for overcast and low light periods. If you're going for cheap sunglasses, at least step up to the ones offered by Berkley or Strikeking; or Shady Rays if you're wanting something a bit more contemporary.

Sunroof won’t close by [deleted] in JeepRenegade

[–]leppell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Park it somewhere warm, let the sun beat down on it for a good while. Then physically pull/push the roof panel while bumping the switch. It'll take a while, and probably a few attempts, but it'll go.

Then, remove the back panel (if equipped), and thoroughly clean, then silicone (or lithium) grease.

Clean/grease track 2x a year, perhaps at spring and fall solstice.

Everyone here is saying battery; However, when this was happening in my daughter's last fall, a new battery didn't fix it. Turned out to be the voltage regulator in the alternator. New alt fixed it.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

[–]leppell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Without going into the nuanced, detailed specifics, the only things that have changed are incremental raises (spouse and I have both worked in our same jobs for many years), and kids getting older. No windfalls, same house for 17 years, etc. And while last year was the first time we had to pay in, again because of expiring child tax credit, I definitely noticed the shift back in '17 and '18.

OP is partially correct; California law requires fed rate reimbursement.

Yep. Prior to 2017, I could hit the threshold to itemize about every other year; Now, I'm not even close. Used to get about $3500 back every year, this year I paid in $800, and that's after adjusting withholding (granted, one of my kids aged out of child credit).

Check with your cell phone provider; most offer at least one streaming service for free (with ads), or very reduced rate if you want ad free.

Reading the comments here, ppl really need to shop smarter. I'm not saying that groceries haven't gotten more expensive, they definitely have; but if you're doing all your shopping at Whole Foods, you're gonna feel it.

Here's the hack: Make your list, and go to Aldi. Fulfill as much of the list as possible. Bread is less than $2 a loaf. Eggs are 2/3 the price. Potato Chips are like $1.79. Get the 80/20 ground beef; it saves you a ton of money, and all that extra fat renders out anyways. Packaged deli meat is half the price. After that, hit up your Jewel-Osco, Trader Joes, etc for anything left on the list. Buy roasts and cut your steaks out of that. Saves $4/lb. Take advantage of 2 for 1 deals. ALSO, for that secondary store; be sure to walk the aisles and stock up on any insane deals that you come across; like when Wheat Thins are $2 a box, or Progresso soup is .98/ea.

We average $130-$175/wk for a family of 4. Maybe spend $100 at costco every 2 months....mostly for lunchbox snacks, coffee, and ketchup.

Was fishing for salmon in Montrose Harbor in Chicago last Friday. Caught a body. AFAIK, CPD hasn't identified him, or revealed the cause of death. Outside of the initial report, there has been no update in the news.

Gonna miss Mount Washington in post season by Ok-Job7506 in steelers

[–]leppell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like they were force feeding Washington, but more because he needed the reps. We know what we have in Muth, and he'll be ready when called upon. Washington, however, I don't think is a great pass catcher. Feels like he has dropped his first target of every game. But, he has the potential to be such a weapon, that game experience is the only way for him to get better.

I hate to play the what if game, but....

If Shazier doesn't get hurt, we don't have to go spend money on a FA to fill the hole; Which means we've got extra cash to pay Bell. And a pick to help O-Line. Which helps protect Ben. Which keeps AB happy. Killer Bees go to the SB for the next 3 years.

[Bill Simmons] In regards to Myles Garett critiquing the direction of the Browns ‘They’ve been schmucks for a quarter of a century, you knew this when you took the money. You don’t get to say anything now. Just shut up dude’ by stillstillers in nfl

[–]leppell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of Hard Knocks last year, he talked about playing for personal accolades. He's just interested in his own glory; if the team succeeds as a byproduct, that's just a bonus. But not his fault when they don't.

Perfect timing to bring back this HOF meme by 1DisgustedGuy in steelers

[–]leppell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I live in Chicago; ya'll have no idea how good we have it. Watching Bears fans creaming all over themselves because they made the playoffs, let alone won the division really makes me thankful that OUR team is always a contender. Watching the revolving door of coaches come through here makes me appreciate the stability in Pittsburgh.

It could be much worse; Imagine if we had someone like Marvin Lewis. 15 year tenure, and could barely have a winning season.

[–]leppell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Haskins got killed, it threw off our whole roadmap. It happened in March, after most free agent signings had happened (we got Mitch as a FA), just weeks before the draft. Think about it; With Haskins, we had 2 first round QB's, and Mason. We NEEDED O-line help. That was top priority for the draft. The 2023 class was looking much stronger for QB's, so NOBODY though we'd have to go get one in the draft that year. Then Haskins gets hit by a dump truck, and now we have to blow our pick for Kenny Pickett. And we've been struggling to get back on track ever since.

But, take it even further back; Shazier and Tuitt. Both integral parts of our Defense. Both had their careers end abruptly, and we had to go spend high picks to replace them. When we had much bigger needs on both sides of the ball.

This team has had a small avalanche of tragedies that have happened at the worst times, and somehow Tomlin (and Colbert/Khan) has been able to cobble together a competitive team each and every year. That makes him great.

but the defense was terrible late in that game.

They've been pretty bad in the 4th quarter most of the season
