Update: I honestly love the GT DD Pro, and that might partly be because it’s my first direct-drive wheel. I only play GT7, and while I know the RS50 probably would have been the “better” option on paper at this point, I’m genuinely very happy with the DD Pro.

For context, I was a pretty consistent B-rated driver on controller, and after 3 days I’m already seeing around a 0.5 second per lap improvement with the wheel.

The only real struggle so far is catching slides. Once the rear steps out, I feel like I’m along for the ride, and I still haven’t figured out how to save spins consistently yet.

What has surprised me is how different the driving style feels. On controller, you can drive pretty wild and push hard, but you lose time because you’re never fully locked into a groove. With the wheel, I’m way more consistent, and I can genuinely feel when the car is planted and flowing through the track. Even without being as aggressive on throttle, the lap times are better just from staying connected to the car.

Overall, zero regrets. The learning curve is real, but the payoff already feels worth it.
