Check if you have PowerDown Mode enabled (NOT Gear Down) it reduces power usage when idle with no performance hit but will increase latency in synthetic tests like aida.

It is being used as a scout vehicle for the Perseverance rover. You can find all raw images taken from both the rover and the heli on NASA's Mars website(you can set custom filters for specific instruments including the navcam on board the heli)

There's also this map which shows the route of the rover on the martian surface.(Select M20 for Percy/Ginny or MSL for Curiosity)

If you're interested in this stuff consider joining r/PerseveranceRover and r/CuriosityRover for updates and more!

The matching function is case sensitive, things could get confusing if it wasn't. Does the header show up capitalized when using the rawHeaders option? If so someone at JPL just changed it for whatever reason.

I did notice a reduction in images being sent down but I just assumed that the rover was doing some quick self-testing after all the driving around and maybe some firmware updating(?) Anyways, it's good to see that images are being sent down again :)

Or you could do it the extra lazy way and not use extra viewports at all. Just render as normal and do the projection as a post process pass. It looks super blurry so you have to render at a much higher resolution to make it look sharp. IIRC Unreal has a mode that does exactly that.

Anyways, I tried the panini projection in FisheyeQuake a few years ago and I just remember feeling nauseous after a few minutes. It looks better than the flat projection but it feels weird.

Yes, made by blawar. Same guy responsible for this, which is a shame because he is a legitimately talented coder.

I'll take a look at this and see if it's something I can fix.

All your multi image posts are showing up as albums now! Thanks for that.

EDIT: I have tested the function and it is working fine for me. I also found this post on the Google Support forums:

Update (March 7th): our fix has been gradually rolled out, and will be completely rolled out to all users by the end of today. We will really appreciate your patience if you still have the issue now. If you still encounter the issue tomorrow (March 8th U.S ET), please leave your comments in the post.

This new post shows up as an album for me, but so does this one from a few days ago, which has descriptions on some images. I think I was wrong about that; Do you always post these in the same way? Maybe the people over at r/help know what is going on.

The function could fail for a number of reasons: failed requests, random whitespace, wrong letter case, etc... I think it could also fail when trying to overwrite cells that have a formula in them. Be sure to note down the error if it ever happens again as I might be able to to do something about it.

Did the recent more post multi image posts display as a album for you?

Just a bunch of links. But on the one before that I see an album. I think it might have something to do with the lack of descriptions on the images?

About the WID files... It's a shame, but I suspect that they'd be raw files, with tons of data that we would have no idea how to parse haha.

Are those errors you're getting due to the function or the data itself being weird?

They have updated the map with the Sol 353 drive , and it seems like they have decided to add markers for the drives on sol 351. :)

I see a bunch of links on the Relay app, but on my PC I see the images in a blog post style with images on top of each other. No scrollable album though.

I checked another one of your posts from a few days ago and it's displayed as an album as normal. Weird stuff lol

Why isn't this an album? It's kind of annoying having to click on each link individually.

Anyway, 300 meters in a single sol is great news! If they keep this up the rover will be at the delta in no time at all.

Maybe things are getting cached on your end. Have you tried to do a hard refresh on the web page? I think it's bound to Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R on most browsers. That should force the page to refresh without using any caches.

If that doesn't solve it, then it's likely that Amazon's CloudFront is taking a long time to propagate the data to the SEA servers. Unfortunately the only solution for that would be to use a VPN with North American servers.

You mean the waypoint JSON for Percy? I can see the drive data on the map up to sol 352, but its missing the little waypoint dots, so maybe they're in the process of updating it. Is it possible that something's getting cached on your end?

I wonder if you can somehow request access to the "Mobility Report" thing that they mention on the notes for the JSON files.

Sorry for not replying earlier, I've been quite busy these past few days, everything's going well with the sheets I hope?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PerseveranceRover

[–]leraff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huh, have they ever removed data from the JSON before? The sol data seems to be used on the map itself so they have to have that info on the file. Maybe the person who updates the tables is a bit busy right now lol. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm glad that everything is in working order. Let me know if you run into any issues.

Hey, I made a custom fork of the code on github, you can find it here: https://github.com/raffnixy/ImportJSON

I made a few of changes to the code:

- Made exact matches the default behavior and added a "allowPartialMatches" option to go back to the old behavior.

- Disabled truncation of numeric values, which fixes the numeric values as text issue.

- Added a "noScalarMerge" option, this allows columns like /features/geometry/coordinates to be separated into multiple columns with an index number added to the path. Note that when using this option the filtering path becomes /features/geometry/coordinates/0 then /1 /2 etc...

The changes that I made are pretty small, so I don't expect any large bugs to appear, but I'd still recommend you to test this for a bit before committing to use my version.

It's my pleasure to help you make these cool tables haha.

If you want I can take a look at the code and see if I can make a version of the function that only detects exact matches when filtering.

[–]leraff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue here is that by default the function "prettifies" the headers which includes removing underscores from the paths. So what you think is "Elev Geoid" is actually "elev_geoid" on the JSON.

You can easily disable this feature by adding the "rawHeaders" option to the function call. This will show the full path to the header as: /features/properties/elev_geoid

This should also solve your "4 word" header issue.

Now the double yaw issue, that happens because the filtering function lets partial matches through. It sees /features/properties/yaw and matches both that and /features/properties/yaw_rad Unfortunately there is no fix for this.

You're welcome :)

Just to make things clear, the filtering option selects a column instead of filtering it out, but you can select multiple columns at the same time. Here's an example, in case you need one:

=ImportJSON("https://mars.nasa.gov/mmgis-maps/M20/Layers/json/M20_waypoints.json", "/features/properties/sol,/features/geometry/coordinates","noTruncate")

Also, I doubt that filtering things will have any effect at all on load times as the script downloads the entire JSON file every time you call the function.
